Finding The Will Of God, - Psalm 105 - Part 2

Finding The Will Of God, - Psalm 105 - Part 2

INTRODUCTION

I've been doing a bit of searching on this one over the Christmas period

Usually I,ll just start typing and see what happens, but it seems Psalm 105 and 106 are about Abraham , Isaac and Jacob, the Ark and the wilderness Journey

We have already gone through a series in the past - Going from "Egypt" (The world) into the faithwalk through the wilderness to the promised Land and on to Abraham , Isaac and Jacob
.
So I began searching and we are going to continue with the "Heart of the matter"

This morning as I woke I had a picture/vision/word / come into my mind and it stayed there for the best part of an hour

.............

It was a sea on there was a storm and a liner/ship was having difficulty and was heading towards the coastline

The ship had lost its navigation and direction and was heading towards the shore

The storm was violent and the wind was extreme and the ocean tides were at their highest for many years

I watched from my apartment as this ocean liner came ever nearer to shore

I just happened to be in a village that was built in a valley and there was nothing there except two buildings , one building was obstructing the vision of the sea

The other building was the building that I or other people had constructed for life

Around the village was a wall defence and within the wall wsas laid the pipes and all the supplies needed for life, eg: watre/electicity/gas/food/etc

All supplies ran along inside this sea wall of defence

As the liner grew ever nearer to the shore I fled down the valley and up into the mountains on the other side

Sure enough within time the liner/ship had hammered through the wall and the sea had breached the wall defence and like a cork in a bottle the ship was forced on through the wall and into these buildings that had been constructed , knocking them down

Then after time and more time the valley filled and flooded and the liner/ship finished up within the waters of the valley so that no difference was seen between the sea and what was the valley and defence or buildings.

All that was left was "The Sea"

.............................

So I take this as confirmation and so we are going to be going down a different path with this series

And onto "Gods will" - "fear" - and so on

Who knows , where we will go, I haven,t got a clue

..........................

THE PILGRIMAGE

Exodus 3:7

The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying
out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering

............................

Lets begin with looking at Gods will

Whether I am in the "world" or on my pilgrimage to the Promised Land I still have a "Will"

I can follow Gods direction or not to follow Gods direction

I can hold onto certain things such as habits

I can take with me on my pilgrimage, wrong thoughts, attitudes, fears, anger, memories and the
list is endless

Which is why I am being "renewed" restored, transformed, changed, saved, forgiven,

Romans 12:2

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing
and perfect will.

To begin to know Gods Will for my life I need to firstly ask Father God to take my life In Jesus
Name and to begin to do His work in me

1. I need to know I can trust God and in that surrender to His Will

2. I need to begin to let my roots grow down into His Word, which will enable me to find out
more about God and what He wants to do "within me" and around me

3. I need to know that it "will" take time

Ezra 10:11 Now make confession to the LORD, the God of your fathers, and do his will.
Separate yourselves from the peoples around you and from your foreign wives."

Being separated in "Not conforming to the world but being transformed"

I am in the world but no longer of it therefore I cannot lock myself away from its influences
but I can decide what I take in and what I partake of

Colossians 3:10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the
image of its Creator

Adam and Eve were made in the image of their creator God and so too we are made in Gods
image and we can be "renewed in the knowledge" of God

And as I take in more and more of Gods Word so I begin to take on more of His Character

...........................

My old life building that I depended on begins to fall down brick by brick and my new house
begins to take shape

..........................

WE ALL HAVE A CALLING

So what was Gods Will here in Psalm 105 as we reflect on Gods people in Egypt under oppression ?

We see that God heard the cries of the people as too He hears the groaning of his children now and of creation and wants all of His creation to be delivered from the oppression and bondage that it is in

2 Corinthians 5:2

Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

...................

Romans 8:23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

2 Corinthians 5:4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

Here we are once more as Adam and Eve naked before God, not naked as in "Clothing" but naked as in "we stand as ones where all that we think, do, say and act out being seen , by the all seeing God

Naked in that our sin is uncovered but yet now covered over by the blood of the Lamb

Yet still we long to be clothed with our new bodies as the bodies we have now are but temporary dwelling places which are here today and gone tomorrow and all that we do and say and use our bodies for ....we will be accountable for and rewarded or not rewarded......... at the final judgement when we as the Lords people stand before God who is clothed in Majesty

Then all that is mortal will be immortal

......................

Yet still God hears the cries of our hearts and the groanings of our days and yet waits for a time when it is the right time when all that are to be saved are saved

So too in that time of the Egyptian slavery and oppression of Gods poeple God waited for the right time when the hearts of the people were ready and at that time He acted and responded, already having prepared "in advance" the person who would lead the chosen ones to Glory

Exodus 3:8

So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey--the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

...............

Although we are already seated in that Land we are yet to enter that Land, for although we are not of the world we are in the world and having entered that Land we have conquered and are reigning with Christ, yet we are still to enter being that "He is the one who was and is and is to come "

And so God wnats and wills that all should be set free from the slavery of the world, the slavery of "sin"

Gods will is that all should be ready and prepared to be delivered from bondage and oppression

Gods will was that all of His people were to be taken out from the Land that oppressed them and taken to a land flowing with milk and honey

..................

We all now have a calling as a body of believers in that we are all called to "lead" people from the "land the the world" (Egypt)

We are all to share our faith and to go and make disciples

In this ...it is Gods will that all should come to Him and that all should take the "lead"

In the "Great Commission"

...................

GOD HEARS

Exodus 6:5

Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and
I have remembered my covenant.

And so again once more we see a reflection as we look to Gods Chosen ones, called out and
to be separated from egypt as the groaning of the peoples burdons and oppressions are heard
by God

Obviously God heard every word, thought, motive and attitude from every hebrew slave, every day,
every minute and every second, but the time head come when the groans of the people had
reached the nostrils of God and it was time for God to breathe His Holy Spirit wind through the
land of the egyptians and to stir up

...........................

MISTAKES

We all make mistakes as we are human and fallible

But God does not make mistakes although at times it may seem that He does

Having led Jacob to Egypt and being that Joseph was in such a high place within egypt the
cogs of time turned around until the egytpians ruled over Gods people

.............................

IN THE BEGINNING

And at this we draw a parallel as we go back to Adam and Eve and the dominion over creation,
ruling and having authority

and we relate it too Gods people ruling over Egypt until Egypt ruled over Gods people

.....................

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;
male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, Gen. 5.1, 2 and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Matthew 19:4 and Mark 10:6 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them
male and female,’a 5and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be
united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’b? 6So they are no longer two, but one.
Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

Here we have the two equal parts having dominion over creation and ruling

Until the fall of "Mankind" and after this we go back too
2 Corinthians 5:2

Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling,

Once again we read from the story of the bondage of the people of Egypt

Once again we relate to our own bondage as we are oppressed by the world

For if we were not oppressed then why would we need to be saved ?
