FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT, Heart Of Worship,Psalm 92,

O.I.L: Says

John 15:1-16

The Fruit of the Spirit an active Visible sign and Growth in Jesus

And so we have the "Fruit of the Spirit" nine visible signs that are evident and being produced
from the Christian life, as we/I remain in the Vine

There are nine fruits but one fruit, this is the nine fold fruit

Now can one person at a time name one of the fruits within the fruit ?

I,ll start

Whats the difference between a good person who does not Follow God in Jesus and a Godly person
who does ?

NOW look again at Psalm 92 and verses 6,7,8,9 and 11

And ask this question

Can An Unbeliever Bear Fruit of the Spirit ?

Does An Unbeliever Bear Fruit ?

.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

Again

Whats the difference between a good person who does not Follow God in Jesus and a Godly person
who does ?

NOW look again at Psalm 92 and verses 6,7,8,9 and 11

And ask this question

Can An Unbeliever Bear Fruit of the Spirit ?

.................................................................

The Deacon: Says

Well God breathed His Spirit into all mankind at creation so yes I Know people who have joy,
peace and patience to name a few who are not saved, so I imagine the answer is Yes
unbelievers can show fruit
.................................................................

Hischild: Says

I believe people can have these qualities in their life but to say they are the gift of the Holy Spirit
(in that person) if they do not have the holy Spirit in their life seems a contradiction in terms to
me. The Holy Spirit gives these gifts and they are not conditional on circumstances. Usually these qualities when experienced on human terms are very conditional on circumstances or the
person has a strong enough will to override the circumstances with the given quality. when the
Holy Spirit gives any of these qualities as a gift it is something which bubbles up within a person and is not conditional on circumstances, neither does the recipient of the gift need to use
their will to overcome the circumstances. That sounds complicated, is it understandable?
.................................................................

oatker: Says

your spot on again. their is a suttle diference; but on deeper examination what looks like a small gap between unsaved and the beloved, is in fact a mighty chasm. the only way across
being jesus. unsaved people at best have a shadow of the fruit of the spirit. sad but true. sin
corrupts and a corupted tree cant bare pure fruit; oh there.im sounding so judgemental.
however im sure it is god that tries everything in the fire, awesome. i gues without christ all
will melt away, at the end of the day. however the good news is with jesus you can have the
real thing which lasts and makes a wonderfull difference, in your life and in the life of others.
that sounds better
.................................................................

Jacob: Says

Well since the first adam we have the gift of life and the earth which God made was a gift to mankind as each day is a gift. Being made in the image of the Maker God, we were made to worship, being made in His likeness it would only be evident that we might all have some form of fruit coming from our original first adam being made from the "Earth" (as in Gatekeeper
studies on Kingdom) "Our Earthen vessels"

So we have our "Earthen vessels" made from the earth, now when we are recreated or become New creations we are born of the "Second Adam" this is the spiritual Adam born of Heaven and
this is the difference (I believe) between the two

The first being of the earth , the second being of heaven , the spiritual, So we say "Your Will be
done in this earthen vessel" in the Lords prayer, how can the Lords will be done "willingly" in an earthly vessel unless it is a spiritual root ? hence "as in heaven" (the second Adam)

Often times Kings would have trees transplanted , uprooted, moved and placed into their
palaces or courts these would be found new homes within the Kings palace, being rooted into
new soil, the trees would then root into their new surroundings

This being the difference between the two , the trees in the palace or court (abbey) and
producing fruit, the trees of the field producing fruit and clapping their hands, but which trees are in the Kings Palace and which fruit has the Kings soil ?

Psalm 92:13 For they are transplanted to the Lords own house, they will flourish in the Courts
of Our God

14 Even in old age they will still produce fruit

.................................................................

Hischild: Says

we all have to interpret scripture as we see it best and as the Holy Spirit gives us insight. I personally so not believe that those who do not know Jesus/God/Holy Spirit can operate the
gifts of the Holy Spirit neither do I believe they could witness to the life of Jesus within them. I do believe they could operate good and decent qualities in their lives but I do not attribute this to God I attribute this to them. That is my opinion and I am not trying to force it on anyone else.
.................................................................

Jacob: Says

thats right, I don't belkieve they can operate the gifts of the Holy Spirit either, but this is about the fruits as in can someone who is not a Christian be "faithful" for example

The fruits we are speaking about as Christians are reborn at rebirth

Or at least thats my way of seeing it

So yes I think we aggree on that they attribute their qualities to being theirs and not Gods, therefore they do not point to Jesus, how can they when the Holy Spirit is'nt operating

Having said that , God can use a person even if they are not "Christians "
.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

Well this is all done to get us thinking, debating and finding answers, so the more people join
in the better

John 15:4 No branch can bear fruit by itself

1. Is this speaking of Godly Fruit as opposed to ungodly ?

2.Can Fruit and gifts be separated ? 1 Corinthians 13:1

3. Can fruit grow ?

What are the opposites of the Fruits of the Spirit ?
.................................................................

Rachael: Says

Ahh yes it was about words and the power of words, here it is

Words have power, Fruit of the Holy Spirit

Words have the power of life and death, you can either speak life filled words, or death filled words, which do you prefer?

Proverbs 18

20 From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled;
with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

and also

Proverbs 15

1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

What fruit comes out of your mouth?

Good or bad?

Life or death?

Light or darkness?

Smooth or rough?

Edify or destroy?

YOU will eat its fruit...

Galatians 5

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control.

So these are the fruits of life...

What would be the fruits of death?

Well lets look at the opposites of what the fruits of life are...

Love...........Hate
Joy.............Sadness
Peace..........Anxious/Anxiety
Patience.......Impatience
Kindness.......Selfishness
Goodness......Meanness/Evilness
Faithfulness...Unfaithful
Gentleness.....Harshness/Abruptness
Self-control....Without Tact or Discernment/Edginess or Fretful

There is also the ideology of you reap what you sow, along with a gentle answer turns away wrath, why?

Because your not giving the other person the opportunity to jump down your throat or retaliate with a like for like kind of attitude.

You should always sow seeds, with the fruit in mind, remember those fruit have seeds too, so you sow good fruit your sowing good seed, you sow bad fruit, your sowing bad seeds.

Your words and actions should be an example of Christ in your life, shining through.

Proverbs 18

20 From the fruit of his mouth a man's stomach is filled;
with the harvest from his lips he is satisfied.

So although you are judged by what comes out of your mouth, it seems you also get your food
from what comes out of your mouth, interesting how you get fed by what comes out of your mouth and not only by what goes in it....

See so is this saying that by your words depends on how you grow and are formed? so being Christ like in our words and actions is a wise way to go, if we are submitting to being renewed
restored and refreshed throughout our body mind and soul?

So how are we linking this to trees?
That you yourself stand as a tree of righteousness, a cedar, a oak...standing tall and strong,
through the empowerment of God, through the Holy Spirits help and strength...so your branches being the roots of the individual fruits, separate fruits? or maybe i just looking into that a lil bit too much lol
.................................................................

Rachael: Says

This also reminds me of how trees ecologically, not only take substenance from the roots, but
give back to the environment, they are needed for oxygen, life giving. So aswell as being served by the root they in turn serve their environment.

People take their substenance from Jesus, all honour, power, strength and glory coming from
God...fruits are a double edged sword as in, they serve both the holder and those observing and listening to the fruits.

Every Good and Perfect Gift comes from God...
Phillipians 4...focus on what is good etc...then the God of peace will be with you...fruits of life
and not death...

Hopefully this ramble made some sense
.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

thanks Rachael, thats for Psalm 92 as us being trees of righteouness beiung tranplanted

Psalm 92:14 as opposed too not being

Isaiah 61:3

.................................................................

Rachael: Says

Better to be a life giver....than sucking the life outta people.
.................................................................

Jacob: Says

So would or could this apply the other way around ?

Could Christians show fruits that might be opposite ? and why ?
.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

Psalm 92:14
well jacob thats a question

can anyone answer that one ?

Could Christians show fruits that might be opposite ? and why ?

.................................................................

Hischild: Says

A tree can only bear the fruit of it's kind. If the Holy Spirit is not there then the fruit of the
Holy Spirit will not be there. Good qualities may be there but it cannot be the fruit of the Holy Spirit without the Holy Spirit. One important thing to remember in all this is that the enemy has the ability to operate false gifts too, gifts which mimic those of the Holy Spirit. Whether it be fruit or gifts if the Holy Spirit is not present then they cannot be either the gifts
or the fruit of the Holy Spirit any more than an apple tree can product a grape.
.................................................................

oatker: Says

oh too right your bang on the money as they say fab u lous. the question is have you got the
holy ghost or not or are you saved or lost. those that do not enter by the sheep gate are in
a heap of trouble. oh bye the way jesus and only jesus is the sheepgate and his sheep know
his name.
.................................................................

Hischild: Says

Yes I do I was baptised with the Holy Spirit many years ago. I received adult believers baptism in the Baptist church I was attending at the time an a while after that I was baptised with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.
.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

Amen, one lesson Ive learnt is this

No sooner do you think you have got there, that you see you are beginning

When you try to take control of something God goes and takes it away from you

Give it to Him and He gives it back to you

............................................

Following on with Psalm 92:12 KJV

"will flourish" and "will grow tall." (future tense) in other words we are becoming, we are growing,
we are to be . In other words AS we are reaching out to the Light, but only as we stay in the
Vine, does this fruit become

Question

Can fruit grow and if so, what does it become, or how does it develop ?
.................................................................

oatker: Says

ah ha you see you said it. only when we stay in the vine. thats what his child has been saying and i totally agree. you must be in the vine and you can only get into the vine through jesus
.................................................................

O.I.L: Says

Fruit of the Holy Spirit comes from the Vine

All other fruit is from a different tree

Fruit on its own is a by product of being in the Vine and is not simply for our own benefit but is
for "others"

As Holy Spirit gifts are for others, tongues being to edify ourselves but also to speak to others

Fruit as in "Love" is in "self control" is for us but is not simply for us but for the benefit of others

As the mustard seed gets bigger so the fruit becomes more evident

.........................................

He brings forth the fruit of good speech. Proverbs 15:4

A godly man dies full of fruit Job 5:26

"The godly man brings forth his fruit" (Psalm 1:3)

Fruit then grows to create that for which it was purposed .......

A Christian brings forth the fruit of good works (Colossians 1:10

Show me your faith by your works James 2:18

I have finished the work which You gave Me to do John 17:4

We come back too "Obedience" in relationship, doing that which God has called us to do
which in its turn and in its season at its Root is "WORSHIP"

......................................................

Bringing us back to the beginning of the Psalm
