LOVE STORY,Psalm 71-72,

Heart (Photo credit: mozzercork)

Author Guardian

Be consumed with a love that is never ending, do not be afraid for I love you with a perfect love,
I want you to be secure and safe in Me, do not doubt, do not fear, I am with you always, whatever
you do and where ever you are, Amen

And so we begin with an introduction

I began to look Psalm 71 and 72 and God began to speak to me about the " Love Story" And love Now I could'nt work out why love would be the focus of Psalm 71 and 72 at this time

But as I began to meditate on this over a period of days and glancing over the surface of these
Psalms I could'nt see what God was saying But I kept getting two scriptures coming to mind over and over and God began speaking to me
about submission

Now this probably is'nt what you expected and neither was I expecting these two scriptures to be the focus of this message, but we shall see what is revealed as we go on

The two scriptures are :

Ephesians 5:21-25 (New International Version)

21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives and Husbands

22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

24Now as the church submits
to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

And the other scripture that followed on from that was

1 John 4:18 (New International Version)

18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Having meditated on the scriptures over time God really began to speak into my own life and ask Father God In Jesus name to speak into yours also as you do not just hear but you listen and act

I am simpy, bringing you that which God has given me and thats all I can do

Whatever your theology , background, beliefs, whether you are a Christian or not......put that aside
and listen, if you disagree then good, if you agree then good, it makes no difference to me

Hear God and follow Him...lets begin

Lord God In Jesus precious name let the blood of your love for us flow over us and baptise us.

Baptise us in your love Lord and let us swim in you

We commit our lifes to you now, we submit our lifes to you now, we commit this time to you

In Jesus precious name Father God amen

Now before we begin we are going to have some interaction yayyyy ( We wuv interlaction)

Now I want you to put your name into this scripture where you see the ____________

For those reading this via the faithwalk site or other means, say the words, speak out the words.

John 3:16

"For God so loved ___________ that he gave his one and only Son, that IF _______believes in him _________shall not perish but have eternal life.

So copy or type out those words and put your name now into the spaces ready ? go

O Gods love as deep as the ocean that He can part to let us through....but will we walk through ?

You know love is'nt just a feeling !! a feeling in itself is simply a feeling..

Love is'nt simply an experience !! an experience in itself will fade over time and simply be "An
experience" In the end it will remain with us and with us alone until we act upon it

The Father demonstrated His love by sending His only Son ........................

Now during this bible message I want you to do two things , so you must be alert and watch the screen an "PAY ATTENTION"

When you see this symbol † I want you to say " Lord I commit to your love"

So lets have a trial run...ready ? go †

Now when you see this symbol * I want you to say "Lord I submit to your love "

So again lets practice now so that we are ready when the time comes, are you ready ? *

Again  speak out the words to God when you see * or †

Lets begin

Firstly lets go through some background to these Psalms and this end of "Book Two" of the Psalms

To make it easier to remember the Psalms and to gain more insight you can divide up the Psalms
into books Each section of the book of Psalms can correspond to the first five books of the Old Testament,
The Pentateuch. Psalms 1-41

this book can be related too Genesis as in the fall of man and how great the love of God is towards
the sinner,

Book 2: Psalms 42-72

A nation in ruin but calling out to God for deliverance. They speak of how God is able to rescue His people.

Book 3: Psalms 73-89

Psalms were written by Levitical priests. When we come into God’s presence Book 4: Psalms 90-106

Numbers describes the Kingdom of Israel in relation to its neighbours, these Psalms reveal that it is
God’s kingdom that rules over all.

Book 5: Psalms 107-150

Speaks of a new beginning in the Promised Land. These Psalms express the thoughts, prayers, and experiences of the captives and their return to Jerusalem.

And so we begin at Psalm 71 and onto Psalm 72 which ends the second book of the Psalms and you
will notice that Psalm 71 has an anonymous author and Psalm 72 is presented as being a Psalm of

Now I like the fact that this is an "anonymous" Author because it can relate to all of us and it can
be David or it might not be... but we know that God inspires and so we can see God as the author

This draws a picture of the Father and the Son does'nt it ? David and Solomon, God and Jesus, us
and Jesus, its all about relationship, its about submission to love † ?

And so while meditating on this message "Love Story" Ephesians 5:21-25 and 1 John 4:18

Kept coming to me over and over and I remembered back to just before I gave my life to Jesus Christ, thirty years ago at the ripe old age of 21, at that time a Christian family had
adopted me as part of their extended family

But it was something about these people that attracted me to them, they had something that I had'nt seen before

I watched them over time and one day God showed me (before I was saved ) what it was ! and it
was His love, this was something I had never seen before and this was what and why I committed
my life to the Lord † You know when people discuss submission its always seems to be the men ? it always seems to be
about women submitting ? and it always seems to be about submitting to authority ? * Is'nt it amazing that we never hear people chatting or discussing The "Church" submitting to God ?

Amazing we don't hear much about men being submissive to the Church ?

You know when I was in the early years of my Christian walk I remember listening to the authority structure of Gods Kingdom eg:

God/Jesus, The Church, Men, Women, Children, and this at the time seemed to make sense in
theory, it seemed logical to me Only as time went on I realised that in practise this structure did'nt quite work out in real life

You see why do we assume the "Church" is always under the "Authority" of God or Jesus ?

In the same way as I might have Jesus as my Lord but is He always my Lord in all areas of my
life all the time ? And why is it assumed that men are always submitting to the Church ?

In real life and in society the authority structure mentioned above only really works within a
family unit of husband and wife with 2.2 children who themselves are Christians

But as we know families in society are not always quite perfect are they ?

"Ahh little simon is biting the head off the tortoise, quick husband what do we do ? "

"Mmmm I,ll phone up the minister and he can ask the Lord"

No seriously, some families may be single partners or parents

Some may not have children, some may have adopted children , some children may have single parents , some may have what they see as several mothers
, some children may know of three fathers

Many parents may live on their own and have their children visit them on occasions

We know and realise that the family unit can be and mean many different things

Some people may be Christian but not be able to go to Church

In the work place we submit all the time to authorities such as our boss, our work colleagues,
we commit oursleves to working to eran money, we commit and submit to many things around
us all the time, however we may not submit or commit to something that goes against our submission
and committal to God So we also find that we are found to be submitting to our children !

We submit every day to our childrens needs or wants, we commit to them ! *

In fact we submit to each other don't we ? why ? we do so out of love †

Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

So now lets look at "Authority"

We always think of authority when we think of submission don;'t we ?

But God is love so why is it assumed that we submit to authority ? of course we do but through love
and through Gods love, God shows His love to us first, He calls us and He begins to speak to us

Although we do not realise it God speaks to us long before salvation and begins to work in us long before
we ever realise or recognise His voice

THEN that loves comes in and we commit our lifes to the Lord when that love of God brings revelation
to us, THEN we give God authority to begin His work deep inside our lifes

God will not force Himself upon us, perfect love will not try too punish us into loving back

Neither will God make us into puppets so that we have no will of our own

He wants us to come to Him, not because we have too but because we want too

A lot of people have difficulties when it comes to Authority, society has problems
with authority ? "Ooo nooo it does'nt"..."Oooo yes it does "

Whether this is because Authority is not used in the right way or whether it is because the
Authority has roots that are not of love or from God who knows but God, But society and people in general do have an issue with authority and authority figures

Some may not even recognise Authority, some may fear authority, some may rebel against
authority, howver when God comes in love , in a love that breaks down all walls and barriers and fears of the heart THEN people respond, the heart responds, then in His gentle Holy Spirit way
, He nurtures us and begins to open up areas of our lifes and as He gently speaks into those areas

We give Him the Authority to do that which Only He can do

Now many may disagree with what I have typed and that is fine

When I first gave my life to Jesus I committed my life to Him because I saw His love
THEN He had the authority to start working inside me

Authority to me at that time was about punishment, all authority figures in my life up
until that time were about punishment †

I would avoid authority figures like a plague , authority to me brought
fear at that time and the fear came from punishment

1 John 4:18 (New International Version)

18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

God comes in Love with a capital L

This may sound strange to some, to have fear of authority figures, but were is the root of
societies failure to have authority ? You see Gods love is not a feeling, Gods love is "Agape" Love 1 John 4:8

This love is the expression of Himself, this is why God loves the unlovable, this is why He asks us to
love our enemies, Ephesians 2:1 this is why Jesus died on the Cross while we were yet His enemies
Romans 5:8 this is why He seeks out all who are lost Luke 19:10

Love on its own is not enough ! in other words I might feel an overwhelming love inside for someone

I might think of that person day and night, I might be consumed with that person , but it is not enough
until I put that feeling into action

You know so many search after love, so many do not know what love is ?

So many search for that love in the wrong places, so many in this world search for love and acceptance

But do you find them searching for authority ? if anytrhing they will avoid Authority

What is love ?

Love on its own without action is simply a feeling, an emotion, love on its own will fade over time
it has to be accompanied by action

God can show me His love and I can be overwhelmed by that love and the experience can be consuming every
part of my being, but unless I act on that , it will simply be an experience that I had

Im going to post that scripture one more time and I want you to put your name in the _________

John 3:16

"For God so loved ___________ that he gave his one and only Son, that IF _______believes in him _________shall not perish but have eternal life.

So copy or type out those words and put your name now into the spaces ready ? go

God has a love for us that He could not and cannot contain within the refinements of heaven,
God is a God who acts, His word is a word that is living and active...He acts on His word, because
He is the Word

What He says is what He does because He cannot be anything else but Himself, does that make sense ?

If He says...He does...

This is love at the basics.... when all else is gone what is left ?......

What is left after a relationship has aged and come to its latter days ?

Companionship ? friendship ? Memories ? I might say "I love you " but how do my actions speak ?

Its about submitting , its about committing, its about doing, its about displaying, demonstrating,

Most of the poeple in my life who have spoken the loudest and had the most affect on me have been
the people who were love , the people who demonstrated love, the people who displayed love, by
what they did

Jesus washes the feet of the disciples , He was the servant King, He came to serve.

God Himself submitted to us as a servant King, He washes our feet and makes us clean so we can stand
on Holy ground, God serves us and indeed if He did not sustain all things then all things would come to an end in an instant

He is committed to us as His children, and we commit to Him each day

We submit to each other in love, In His Love, which allows His Authority to rule

Actions speak far louder than words or pictures, God demonstrated His love to us

Once we submit to His love as individuals or individuals in a family,

As each person in that family , whatever the family is or will be, submit to the Love Of Jesus as
the head

Once each individual family member submits and commits to Jesus's Love THEN all else will fall into place, whatever the situation or circimstance or that family Whatever the family number, whoever the family, whether single, divorced, married, partners, separated,
remarried, living apart, whether with many children or not as each person in that family submits and commits to Jesus as their Lord and saviour IN His Love and put Him first THEN all else will fall into place

SAY AFTER ME † * " Lord I commit to your love"..........."Lord I submit to your love "

Let His love be the greatest aim , the greatest goal , the greatest gift, let His love consume every
part of your being until you can think of no one else

Sooo lets begin the bible message Now we turn to Psalm 71 and I will post parts of Psalm seventy one that we are focusing on

Psalm 71:5 Psalm For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.

Psalm 71:6 From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you. 71:9 Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone. 71:18 Even when I am old and gray,do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come

Now Psalm seventy one was written in the latter days of Davids life and we see David looking back
over His life ...Over His life story, over his psalms, over his love story

David was a man indeed after Gods own heart and he committed and submitted to God

This was Davids "Love story" the Psalms, but there are many many things we do not see in the
Psalms and many things we do not know about because the psalms is merely the Holy Spirit bringing
out those things He wants us to notice and see

It would be impossible to include everything in a book and the Psalms is a portion of a persons life

We all have psalms, we all have "love stories" we each (who know Jesus ) have our own individual
Psalms, or stories of our love story , our life story with God, each of us can testify of God if we know

We all write Psalms when we write our testimonies and the Psams is a testimony of David, or is
it God ? or Jesus ?

Here in Psalm seventy one in the latter days of Davids life he looks back and gives testimony of God

This was Davids love story, this was Gods love story, this IS Gods love story

As God is involved and participates in each persons life it is a written testimony or a Psalm

Davids looks back here to his childhood and remembers the trust he placed in God Isaiah 46:3 Psalm22:9

Psalm71:20 "you have allowed me to suffer much hardship "

Here the love story of David and God is seen in the Psalms, the man after Gods own heart
The man who's life was not easy, who ran from enemy to enemy, from hardship to hardship,
from all his pursuers and those who sought to take his life

But David continues on submitting and committing his life to God Proverbs 16:3

This love story took David through many trials and many hardships but this was love

When you are in love its almost madness, you do such silly things don't you ?

But all you can think about is that person and even if you loose everything ...its okay
because you simply want to be with that person, your eyes are for that person alone

Such foolishness when you are in love , in this love affair, where you could loose everything and
where you can risk so much just to be with that person, you are willing and committted to loose
all to gain all because your simply in love and thats all that matters to you

Such foolishness is'nt it ? you do such silly things , some completely out of character, you make a fool
of yourself in front of others 1 Corinthians 4:10

But you see it doesn't matter to you because you are in this mad love affair and you are being compelled by the Holy Spirit and He is drawing you closer and closer and closer to Gods heart where you are drawn in and you are being driven on to do things that you would never normally do in a
million years "Wow I never thought I could do that ? wooo thats unusual ? woo why am I doing this ? "

A word

You will do things that you have never dreamt of, because you are doing it with me and in me, and you shall be drawn into a time when your compassion for God shall be so great that people will
be astounded and say " surely these are sons and daughters of God"

You will look back over your lifes and see that the Lord your God loves you , of course you will
see and hear amazing things because you are doing them in your lovers name

I am doing a new thing and you shall be astounded amen

So here in Psalm seventy one we have David and His god , His Father

Now lets go to Psalm 72 now and we see Solomon Davids son in fact a Psalm of Solomon
which ends book two of the Psalms

And we see that in this Psalm it mentions Jesus in psalm 72:8 and the cross references are
Isaiah 49:23 and Micah7:17

And this Psalm although being a Psalm of Solomon the son of David speaks of Jesus the Son of

Here we have "relationships" here we have "families" here we have Fathers and sons( or daughters)
here we have family relationships

Here is love deep in the ocean of Gods love as we swim in Him and are overwhelmed by a desire to
follow Him alone

David commits his life to God , we commit our lifes to God , Jesus committed his life to God

Here is the figure of authority, that figure that might bring fear to some, to others they may not even
recognise authority, to others they may depsise authority figures in society, to yet others they see
authority as fear, to some they may see authority as love, depending on their experience of Authority

And whether that Authority is "Authority" or "authority" Gods or mans without God

But God is love and He comes in love and His love is perfect love, He shows us His love and it is
that love through which we use the gifts and through which we speak to others

It is through that love that we come to Jesus as we give Him the authorrity to rule and reign in our lifes
we then come to a deeper understanding of His love Pray with me now and ask your lover who Is Jesus to show you His love, speak out or type out

Lord I commit my life to your love right now, Father God in Jesus name I submit my life to your love,
I commit to your love and your love alone, you are the only one in my life and into your hands I
commit my life In Jesus name Break through the barriers of fear Lord, break through the barriers and walls made by man, break through the fear of authority figures that some might have, break through with your Love In Jesus name amen
