Made to Worship - Psalm 105, Study 7
A Song of Deliverance
Then Moses and the people of Israel fsang this song to the Lord, saying, g“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider1 he has thrown into the sea.
2 hThe Lord is my strength and my i song, and he has become jmy salvation;
And Miriam sang this song:
21 And Miriam sang to them: z“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”
And the Church sing this song
The Seven Angels with Seven Plagues
15 Then rI saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, sseven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
2 And I saw twhat appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those uwho had conquered the beast and its image and vthe number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass wwith harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing xthe song of Moses, ythe servant1 of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
"Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of the ages.
THE LEVITE LEADERS
And so we have the two brothers of Amram called Moses And Aaron and their sister Miriam
who was a Prophetess in
And we go back to when pharoah ordered every hebrew slave to be killed and as we know
Moses was put into a basket and left to float amongst the reeds and he was found by
Now as Moses was placed there so too Miriam watched from a distance being the older sister
of about 7 - 12 years of age
Now Miriam was clever : note
Exodus 2:5 Pharaoh's daughter came down to bathe at the river. Her maidens walked
along by the riverside. She saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her handmaid to
6 She opened it, and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. She had
compassion on him, and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children." 7 Then his sister
said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew
women, that she may nurse the child for you?"
8 Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Go."
The maiden went and called the child's mother. 9 Pharaoh's daughter said to her,
"Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages." The
woman took the child, and nursed it. 10 The child grew, and she brought him to
Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, and said, "Because
I drew him out of the water."
And so Jochebed Moses's Mother became his Nurse
Now lets go forward and onto when Moses , Aaron and Miriam were being led out and leading
out the People of God
What a glorious prossession as Miriam began to sing the praises of God in the Spirit
Singing and dancing and prophesying and leading the women in dance to the Lord
And what a wonderful picture of the Bride of Christ as she worships her God
WE ARE ALL LEADERS - MALE AND FEMALE
And so Miriam led alongside Moses and Aaron
You see "We are all leaders"
This Levite family, Moses , Aaron and Miriam were following God and being followed
Each one was following God and being followed
Now we glance back at Adam and Eve being at this time the Two Equal Parts
Here Miriam is leading ALONGSIDE , Moses And Aaron
It does not say that she led the men although no doubt she did in that she probably taught male youngsters or infants
So here we have this Woman of God leading by being led
SING A NEW SONG
Now we read in Revelations that the same song, the song of deliverance is being sung in the vision of things to come....in
Here a sea of glass with those who had conquered
And straight away we see that these things carry on, almost like a "CONTINIUOS PROCESS"
Wow they sang the song that Moses and Miriam taught the people to sing after being delivered from their oppression !
They sang the song a Moses ...this time not for those who once had been delivered from the oppressors hand (The Israelites being delievered from Pharoah)
BUT this time they sang the song of Moses with those who had conquered and overcome in the "Last Days" those who's names were written in the Lambs Book of life
Wow it continues on you see ?
so what of little old me and my life?
OLD TESTAMENT CHURCH
We've looked at "THE Wilderness of Slavery" and how we came out of the world as Christians and began to find the will of God and how God worked in His secret Kingdom to prepare and to shape the things that were to happen
We've looked at how God can tranform and shape and bring to Light those things that He wants us to put right, but we've also seen how there is a battle and a will that sometimes fights against Gods will
Now as we are being saved then we conquer certain things and we JUST WANT TO REJOICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Now God has already put that song into our hearts and its a new song that we can praise Him with
Psalm 96:1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
It did not end with Moses or start with the Moses song in Revelation but it starts in my heart and your heart
You see .......The song of Moses is the song of the Lamb. The Old and the New Testament churches are one.
O yes they had Churches in the Old Testament...believe it or not
HE CONQUERS AS I CONQUER
Ahh yes but you say ...we do not need to conquer because Jesus has conquered, we do not need to put ouselves right because Jesus makes us right
Yes back to the old....."Armchair Belief"
Well ok then.........lets take one thing....mmmmmm...
The Holy Spirit convicts me of my interest in "Pornography" (By the way I have no interest in pornography - ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE)
Well Jesus has overcome...so thats it ? no need for me to do nowt
Romans 8:37 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved
There you see...WE are more than conquerers through Him
Revelations 12:11 11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
THEY triumphed overhim BY The Blood of the Lamb
ooooo we are back to this two way thing again as in "Relationship"
THAT CHURCH AND THIS CHURCH
And this is the heart of Praise and Worship
When God has done such great things we just can't hold it in and we just get excited and we want to praise His name
Its all for Him you see, not for me and my entertainment
I wonder if the women who followed Miriam looked back and said "Remember that great praise time we had" ?
So many times you hear "O the worhip at that Church is'nt so good" or "They need a good music group"
That has nothing to do with worship as we know that worship is in us and in our lifes and part of a lifestyle
Those songs we sing on a sunday or wahtever day we meet are simply preparing us to receive the Word Of God and tuning our hearts ready to hear God speak
THE KINGSHIP OF WORSHIP
I remember some 25 years ago walking late into my Church and hearing this beautiful song which
was being sung by a beautiful heart (this is what I referred too in the previous study)
The person singing was so immersed in her worship and song that it might just
as well have been her and God in the room and no one else and funny enough the person singing
had a name with only a few syllables differential to that of Mirial
Through your love and through the ram, You saved the son of Abraham
Through the power of your hand, You turned the sea into dry land
To the outcast on her knees
You were the God who really sees And by your might,
You set your children free
SO WHATS GOING TO LIFT ME ?
But you know I can kick the cat, argue with my wife, shout at the children and then go to Church
and sing along with everyone and go through the motions and even take communion, then go
back home and continue as before
I can go to a bible week really low get uplifted during that week and then go home and go back to
being really low and continue as before
SO WHATS GOING TO LIFT HIM ?
Lets go back to the origins and Genesis and consider how Adam and Eve prayed to God, yes they
talked to him daily, hourly, continiously in continious communion and worship
The Book of Nehemiah to me is a fantastic example of worship - communion and Church
fellowship working together
And so we'll end this as an open topic
Lord God In Jesus name let my life praise and worship You and may I lift up Your Name
In Jesus name Amen
