TOTAL RECALL

Cross references

Proverbs 11:20 Psalm 50:20 Proverbs 6:16-19 Psalm 119:1

A few questions to consider...

1.How do we make music to the Lord without using instruments ? Psalm 101:1

2. How do we live a blameless life as Christians ? (Please do not reply with "because of what
Jesus did, you are correct but we are talking here in this message about a two way
relationship).....so in other words how can we assure that the devil does not get a foothold ?

Or how do we live to honour God

a.

Is there anything in my life where the enemy could get a foothold !
TOTAL RECALL

While considering and meditating on this yesterday 'Saturday'

I thought Of how many times in the bible the words "DO NOT" appeared...

And how many times the words "DO" appeared

Now keep this in mind as these things will reappear on the very next day...'sunday'

I considered what this bible message was about and how we are looking at the relational to's
and fro's between man and God

When we act and when God acts..

I reflected on how many times at sunday school children would often give the answer "JESUS"

And obviously 90 per cent of the time the answer was correct

I might ask "who made this cup of tea ? " and the resounding answer from a child would be
"JESUS"

And in a way ...they were correct

But we have to remember as we to and fro between this unconditional/conditional relationship,
that sometimes it does depend on how we act and what we do

We like the sunday children cannot always say "JESUS"

Sometimes it requires us to go so far THEN God/Jesus will do the rest

Sometimes when we have done all we can then God does what we cannot do

Sometimes God will do it all without us doing anything

Sometimes God may require that we do it

All these do's and don't in Gods Word !

Immediately Job cam to mind when I considered a "Blameless life"

There lived a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. This man was blameless and
upright; he feared God and turned away from evil. Job 1:1

In other words he turned away from things that might lead him away and sought God

And we consider how Job came under attack !

this man who lived a blameless and upright life (righteous)

PREMEDITATED AND PURPOSEFUL

Why did this man come under attack ?

Because.... and that is the answer

Who do you think the enemy will attack ?

Job came under attack because, because because he was a good man (Godly)

What other reason might there be ?

the enemy says

"Ooooo that man job....look at him, he's only like that because he is blessed, he would'nt be
like that if I had anything to do with it"

"I,ll go and present myself to the Most High God (Who Im in a relationship with) and I,ll ask if
I can sift him like wheat, THEN we'll see how blameless and upright and good (Godly) this man
is

...............

You know ...these things fluttered through my mind on saturday and then, and then, and then

We go to the people at mount Sinia and "DO NOT" touch the mountain or you will surely die

As we see Moses talking to God on the mountain in his relational walk and what were the
people doing ?

Worshipping a false god !

Where does it says" DO NOT have other gods before me ?"

" You Adulterising people"

You know the people as they prepared and premeditated their actions before God and while He
was there talking to Moses even though He clothed Himself in thick smoke so that they should
not die at His presecence....they worhipped another god !

This premeditated action and purposeful disobedience before God was not just or simply the
worship of a figurehead or figure

This golden god was made from the peoples own treasured possessions

The People, Gods chosen people had taken their rings and family Heirlooms

Jewelry that had been handed down from generation to generation, from family to family

Those things not just treasured as in monetary value but treasured as in "Close to the heart"

And they melted these valuable items down ..and then made the idol out of their most
treasured possessions...the only things they had that was of any value

Melted down to form an idol !

And to be worshipped in front of the very real and living God

DO IT....DON'T DO IT

And so they were the things that came to me on the saturday

.........................

Now we come to the sunday and off to fellowship with a small part of the Family of God
called "The Church" in that one of many buildings, dedicated to God

During the service (To God) and while we sang I peered down at that weeks newsletter and
notepaper, when the words from the newsletter and that weeks message jumped up at me..

"Do it" ...."Don't do it"...and I looked again and the page was headed..."Just do it"

Mmmm ..I looked again ..."DO IT"......"DON'T DO IT" were typed in bold upon the Church
Newsletter notepad page

And the message (Preach) was on James 5

1 Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you.

2 Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes.

3 Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh
like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.

4 Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against
you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.

................

MMmmm "Bigger Barn"

Mmmm, "The Golden Calf"

Mmmm, "Breaking the commandments by worshipping and taking part in materialism"

Who does,nt break a commandment ! set in stone by the finger of God ?

You see God can use people but consider if there were only one person alive on this Earth
and Jesus died for that one person and that one person was you ?

Who might God use ?

Sometimes God will use us, sometimes He does',nt

Here on mount Sinia God wrote with a finger, rather than using someone to scroll

On this occasion God wrote part of the bible WITHOUT the aid of human hands

..............

And so the message at Church was about "Wealth and how wealth can corrode and corrupt
a person"

............

This is our God, a God who is all powerful and has all dominion, who has all authority and all
power and yet He may choose to speak in the simplest way

Not by acts of the miraculous, but simply by letting us know He is there with us,

By speaking to us through the simplest things

Not wanting us to be corrupted by the gifts that are given by Him to His children

He can speak , but are we ready to listen ?

AN ORACLE WITHIN MY HEART

An oracle within my heart

"Do" and "Don't"

As David begins his reign as king he decides on the way ahead

And although Jesus does the miraculous in a persons life, we also see that this is a two way
communion, a two way relationship, a two way communication.

We should never sit back and say "Well thats my ticket to heaven, Jesus does it now"

Some may say "Well David was speaking in the flesh"

I say "Of course he would"

"What else would he speak from apart from the mouth God gave him ? "

You say "Well God speaks through His Spirit - through David"

Yes he does but tell me "When things are hard and life is difficult and everything seems to be
going pair shaped....

Is not God still the same God that He was when everything was going rosie ?"

And the answer is "YES"

How then do I respond back to God and Gods Spirit when all is going wrong in my life ?

Do I then decide too go with the Holy Spirit and begin to praise God ? or so I decide to say..

"Oooooooooooo its always happens to meeeeee...pooorrrr meeeeeeeeee"

God has'nt changed has He ?

Nooo I rejoice in the Lord ALWAYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Psalm 19:8 (bigger barn) Psalm 36:1-4 ( An oracle within my heart)

Lets lok at the last part of Psalm 101:3-8

DAVID SAYS: NOTE DAVID SAYS

3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;I hate the work of those who fall away;
It shall not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart shall depart from me;I will not know wickedness.

5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor,Him I will destroy;
The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart,Him I will not endure.

6 My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land,That they may dwell with me;
He who walks in a perfect way,He shall serve me.

7 He who works deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who tells lies shall not continue in
my presence.

8 Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land,That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city
of the LORD.

SOUNDS LIKE GOD SPEAKING...DOES,NT IT ? COULD IT BE BOTH ?
......................

And so David decides what fruit to look for, what fruit to mix with.........

2 Corinthians 6:14

Davids aim was not to mix or be unequally yoked with certain things, (NOTE) things ...
not people...God loves people, God loves everyone for God is Love

God loves the sinner BUT not the sin

Mark 12:31 the greatest comandment.............

Remember Davids neighbours were his enemies !

Bordering nations who wanted nothing more than to overthrow and take over and destroy

David decides not to mix be "Yoked" with such

And this is where many get confused (God is not a God of confusion)

God loves all...everyone...do you really think he loves me more than He loves my next door
neighbour ?

God is no respecter of persons............. Romans 2:11

Then Peter replied, "I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism.

Now read John 13:23 "The Disciple whom Jesus loved"

God says "Love your neighbour"

God loves us, yes God loves us and God loves our neighbours Matthew 5:43-48 Matthew 5:45

We love our enemies .....don't we ?

We pray for those who hurt us....don't we ?

Don't I ?

You know this can be the confusion !

God may love people but not the sin !

We can love our neighbour but decide not to be yoked together "As in be a part what they are
doing . or too participate in,"

When we forgive, we can forgive but that does'nt mean to say ..we have to continue to be
yoked with that person "In other words to go back to be hurt again or to copy their ways"

Does that make sense ?

David could still love his neighbouring nations but choose not to participate in their ways and
not to mix in their beliefs, to not be yoked together with them

Because he was separated from them and loved the same as them

Why then mix and be yoked back together with those from whom we have been separated ?

But we continue to love, as God loves

We at a certain point can listen to what the Holy Spirit of the living God is saying to us and
make a choice

We / I say "Whom and what do I follow ? "

That choice is NOT Gods

This is our interchanging, inter relational, walk with God

.............................

Pray these words

Lord God in Jesus name I choose to follow you

In Jesus name Amen
