Psalm Ninety Nine , Part Two

Rachael says:

"O love that will never let me go"

Thats just God isn't it, and the never let me go bit, i think is the bit about love or God that draws you back. The never let me go bit, is almost as strong as the love itself, its the 'bond' or 'tie' that keeps you with God and God with you. The relationship.

The never let me go bit, has me picture of a rope tied between Gods waist and the other end tied round your waist. There is enough 'spare' rope for you to walk off as far as you can....but that bond is still there, that never letting you go bit.

Dont matter if your near or far, God is with you.

gatekeeper says:

thats right God won't let us go,

He will follow us to the ends of the earth

And we would not want to let Him go

Don't foget we are speaking of people in general , as in "The World" and also "Believers" those who follow Jesus and God,

but regarding believers................

Still some may become uneasy when mentioning the loosing of ones "salvation"

there are many scriptures that backup "salvation" being "onced saved always saved"

still there are many that seem to point in the opposite direction

this is often something that is unspoken of , and can be seen as sowing doubt in believers

But then...we have to look at both ends of the coin

If we are in relationship and seek to follow God, there is no question that our salvation is secure

On the other hand I have seen so many people come to faith and yet walk away after a short time

Even to the point of pulling down or speaking against christianity

And we also read the story of ananias and saphira or of judas Iscariot or going back to the old
testament we read about King Saul and then revelations about the Church of Laodicea or the other Churches mentioned

So although there is no doubt that those who follow after Jesus are saved and that God will never let us go

There is also a place to reflect on those who are in the parable of the seed

Luke 8:4-21

Some seed falls on the soil "heart" and yields a plentiful harvest (build a bigger barn"

11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path
are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it,
but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away.

14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they
are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.

But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

gatekeeper says:

Also we have to remember that in all these cases in the parable of the seed and in the Churches
re:revelations and in most other cases it is not God who turns away
The only person God the Father ever turned away from was His Son on the Cross
Even satan himself was cast down onto the creation God loved and nurtured
With most, it is where people turn away from God.............the most vunerable time being when
we first become "Christians"

With "Samson" and the story of Samson and delilah, delilah slowly wore Samson down with her
constant questioning

One of the key weapons of the enemy is to cast accusations to slowly wear people down over a long period of time...then he brings along temptation once people are worn down

In the garden of Eden satan said "did God say ? " then came the temptation, firstly cast doubt ,
then bring in the temptation

On the Cross the enemy spoke through those onlookers by saying "If you are the Son of God come down from the Cross"....this accusation came after the constant barriage of beatings and

And so we remember that in most cases its the people who turn away from God and not God
who turns away from them

As for their salvation....well ....that is for God to judge

We seem in this day and age to have a shopping culture that has been brought into Christian circles

Where we walk almost into a supermarket type enviroment and expect instant service

Like God is a commodity that we can bring in when we have need, almost like an entertainment machine

Our motivations can be that of wanting instant service and an unrealistic approach

We can have an idealistic view on what we think Church should be like and go there to be entertained

And when I pray it can be almost like taking a product off the shelf and trying it out

And if I do not get instant results then I try something else

Its almost like an instant culture, that creeps into Christian circles

gatekeeper says:

Then we have to remember that God can do things in an instant or in the blink of an eye

Luke 12:16-21 in the case of the land owner here who had plenty and wanted more ....he was short sighted and could only see as far as his nose, thinking of this life and what the next few years would be like

Much like the food we buy at supermarkets that perishes after the sell by date, these things only
have a short life span

As did the rich land owner

gatekeeper says:

Psalm 99:1 The Lord is King let the Nations tremble

We see the earth as Gods footstool Matthew 5:35 Isaiah 66:1 Acts 7:49

This is the soil where God plants His seed

Earthen vessels are made and formed and created from the earth

And through these earthen vessels , God chooses to work and have His being Matthew 6:10 KJV

This being in the heart of His people, as they move in His Will Luke 8:15

The seed is planted in the heart of a person and from this seed that grows and multiplies,
so eventually more seed comes forth

The Earth is the Lords and everything in it Psalm 24:1 1 Corinthians 10:26

Psalm 99:6 Moses and Aaron were among His Priests, Samuel also called on His name

Exodus 15:25 1 Samuel 7:9

We are Priests of the Living God 1 Peter 2: 9

gatekeeper says:

We go back at this stage and remember Psalm 96:1 Sing a new song to the Lord. let the whole
earth sing to the Lord

Psalm 97:1 The Lord is King , Let the earth rejoice

Psalm 98:1 Sing a new song to the Lord verse 4 Shout to the Lord all the earth

Psalm 99:1 The Lord is King, Let the nations tremble - Let the whole earth shake

We are the only ones made in the image of God

We are the only ones who have the will that comes with intellect and the "Knowledge"

The earth which is mere dust cannot have a will

The plants and vegetation only function as they are made to function and witness to Gods
handywork as do the stars and planets

Animals have a certain will that is defined in their makeup re: I am hungry, unhappy, angry,

People however being made in the image of God and being made of the earth have the capacity
above all of these

Gifts being given by God, such as prophecy, tongues, healing, word of knowledge,

As we know , none of these can be displayed through any other than "Humans" or should we say "Earth Beings"

Being sons of the Living God ........

When it states "Let the earth rejoice" it means just that...

Earth, plants, animals...

Gods children, "Christians"

The only ones not assigned to this are "Non believers"

Those who choose not to delight in "The Lord" .............................

gatekeeper says:

Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"

I always remember someone teaching on the above scripture and stating that this was a

That very same person a year or so later was living what he preached

When his whole world fell apart and he was about to loose everything, I remember one morning watching as he walked out of his home singing to himself "Rejoice in the Lord always
and again I say rejoice"

Now that is'nt quite the same version that this man was singing , but it gives you an idea

He continued to sing that as he got into his car

Now that spoke to me more than anything else

In that he did not just preach it but he practised it

After that time and many times I have found myself doing the very same thing

When I feel like doing nothing else but giving up, when I feel down and out, I often resort to
doing the very opposite by starting to sing that song to myself over and over again, until I
begin to feel myself being lifted up and out

Rejoice in The Lord Always and Again I say Rejoice

When the enemy seeks to pull you down ...respond in the opposite fashion and he will flee

Lord God in Jesus name we come to you now and dedicate our lifes to you

Let us rejoice in You always

Let me rejoice in You always

Even though it goes against my normal inclination

Let his earthen vessel rejoice in you In Jesus name amen
