The Genesis Agenda,Psalm 104,Study 10

The Genesis Agenda,Psalm 104,Study 10

Gen. 2:20-24

Now Im referring to Genesis as we have noted that Psalm 104:1-35is a poetic reflection of the creation story
and I have tried to align this alongside us as Christians as in "new creations"

And in this we have also looked at Genesis but also now at the intimate relatonship that can be
between God and man (man being eg: the human race)

Now lets go back to the original creation of the first man

You know God has no genda !

We know that and we also know that in heaven there is no genda, neither male nor female...

At the time of giving and taking in marriage suddenly Luke 17:26-27

"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah
entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all."

Jesus will come and then there will be no giving or taking in marriage

Matthew 22:30

At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.

and at the same time the Bride of Christ will sit at the wedding ceremony

And so we shall all be equal ! of course we are now are'nt we ?

So God formed a _________ from the dust of the earth ?

You see Adam was not a man at this time , no !

God formed a person out of the ground and formed this person into the Likeness of Himself

And God has no genda you see !

THEN God took a rib from the person He called Adam and formed a Woman,

NOW you have the genda's

You see how personal this is ?

Why did'nt God just make Eve "the other half " of Adam from the dust as well ?

This is personal you see, this is the "other half " of Adam

The Hebrew is tsela and tsela means "one side"

You can find other definitions of this in In Exodus 27:7 Exodus 25:12 1 Kings 6:34 and
Job 18:12 to name but a few

This is the intimacy of God to make a person in the Likeness of Himself (we say Himself as this is
the traditional and cultural way of seeing God)

And we see that instead of a rib (as is the traditional view) in fact God took half of Adam to make
the person who was to be called "Eve"

This is the "Flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone"

Not "a rib out of my body, BUT Flesh of my flesh and bone of my bone"

This is "The other half" as we might call the other person in our marriage

God virtually took half of Adam to make the person to be called "Eve" and THEN they were as

Genesis 2:23 Then the man said,

"This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Now we have the "Gender" man and woman

Two equal parts (excuse the pun) both equal

As we know Adam and Eve committed the first sin yet we are guilty on the basis of our own sin

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned Romans 5:12

Now we have seen that God is and was genderless and that He created a person and that God made a partner for the person and after this time we have "genders" male and female He created them and we have Adam and Eve

We also know that Eve was tempted by the serpent and that she sinned and disobeyed God and in this she also gave to Adam the fruit of sin

Now for the first time Adam and Eve were exposed before God and became aware of the "sin"

So too all of us now who know God are also aware of sin

And so at this time God made skins for Adam and Eve

Genesis 3:21 (NIV) The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

You could say that here the blood was shed as a sacrifice for the sin, you could say that "Jesus made the atoning sacrifice for sin"

Now here is where the divide happens, this is where the "two equal parts" the two equal partners become unequal

Genesis 3:16 To the woman he said,

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

Now the man rules over the woman because of the fall

Now the equal partnership and equality in creation and in God is broken between the two genda's

Now lets put social- cultural - and traditional values aside and focus on the fact that the scripture above states as it does

Now lets look to the Christian believer and the status of both in Christ !!

Many still believe the the man is the head of the home (Im going to be nuetral here and not ype what I believe but for the sake of debate just put a point accross)

Lets look at this scripture

For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22

So Jesus became a curse for us ....yes ?

Is not the original curse broken ?

Are we not not equal in Christ as partners once more as God intended it to be ?
