We are all Leaders, - Psalm 105 - Part 3

We are all Leaders, - Psalm 105 - Part 3

John 14:1-3

“[Jesus Comforts His Disciples] Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

Preparation, none of us like that part do we ?

Re: We are all Leaders, - Psalm 105 - Part 3

All of us who follow the footprints laid before us by our Lord and Saviour will have sore and tired feet while on this earth. But never stop for the path He has laid down for us will be well worth anything we must endure.

Hi Hisglory ...yes He lays the footprints before us and all we have to do is o walk in them

In other words to walk in His will

Thats a good picture of "walking in Gods Will"

So what was Gods will for the hebrew slaves, for (what would be) Gods anointed and appointed ones, chosen and separated, ?

To walk in His footsteps rather than theirs and in so doing leave behind all those things that had oppressed them

This was Gods will and was and is and will always be Gods will , THAT we leave behind anything that might hinder our relationship with God

And so the Israelites were in the land of Egypt for some four hundred years and generations had past by, some never knowing freedom

This was the life they had and this was the life they had known from generation to generation

I do grumble when prayers remaim unanswered or things just don't seem to happen and yet when they do , they seem to take me by surprise and I might spend the next so many years adjusting myself to the change while God is saying "IVE MOVED ON" follow me

So was God slow in keeping His promise to Abraham ?

Wow Jesus has spent thousands of years preparing a place for us !

Do you think that house is still being built on the new earth right now ?

I think sometimes I should have a sign above my head saying......

"Under Construction"

And the same might go for my new dwelling and abode as it gets reconstructed depending on what I do and don't do (Judgement)

So why did it take so long for the chosen ones to be taken out of that land and into the land prepared for them ? (and being prepared)

Was God slow ? or was Jesus waiting for the right time when the hearts of the people were right ?

When they had caught up with everything and were ready ?

I can be like that at times and think "oooo its so slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

"Why did God wait until I was 52 before He called me ? (lets pretend)

"Why did I have to waste alll those yearsssssss"

"Ive been a Christian now for 10 years and well Ive got into a rut"

In this is the preparation for far greater things

God is far more concerned about the preparation and our character than He is about time

The Earth was made for US not US for the earth

But it can seem like such a waste of time

You know its not God wasting time.............its me slowing Gods down

If all had been born that were to be born anmd all came to Jesus that were meant to come to Jesus then tomorrow the end of times (which began at Pentecost) would come sooner when all would be wrapped up like a sheet and dissolved

In that "WE" "I" can accelerate time ...WE can accelerate the end of this earth...

You say "NOooo" I say "Yesssssssss"

Think if the last person to be born that was to be saved was born 20 years ago and I am used by God to lead that person to Him ?

Depending on my response ...depends on how quickly the final curtain is closed

Now we jump back to the Israelites and Egypt

As the final "time" draws to a close and all that has been prepared and is being prepared comes to fruition

Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

“This is what the LORD says? he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Again we see the path cleared as the John the Baptist of time clears a way for His people

Now that scripture above just happens to be todays biblegateway scripture

And we see the streams in the wastelands where a new thing springs up, new life and hope

So we have God the "Leader" drawing the people out of their situations and circumstances and doing a new thing, from where there was nothing God can make a new thing spring up from the ground, from the thought life, from the heart , from a life grown dry

In that thirsty land God made a new thing appear from where there was nothing

Like trees planted by the Gods waters

I must let my roots grow down into Gods Word
Colossians 2:7 NLT

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong.

Jeremiah 17:7-9

7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like
a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.

It does not fear when heat comes;its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of
drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

And so Moses was drawn out from amongst the people years before Gods plans were seen and

Moses being drawn out from the waters as a babe to spend the next forty years in training
for what was to come

And is'nt it just so that in those dry days when we thirst for God and prayers seem to remain
unanswered that we cannot always see what God is doing ?

God may have already begun His plans to draw us out of a situation and circumstance

He may have already begun His plans to bring an answer, yet in my limited and shortsighted
timescale I can only see one day at a time

What a waste it must have seemed to spend forty years of life being brough up in Pharoahs
palace to learn the ways of the egyptians and to be adopted and seem to come from nowhere

An orphan who did'nt really seem to fit in anywhere

And after around forty years to kill an egyptian taskmaster and to have to run from everything
he knew and to the only place he where he might be safe

The home of his fatherinlaw "Jethro"

To be drawn out of the home Moses knew and to spend the next forty years or so tending the
flocks in that dry place of the desert in Midian

But what a time for us to spend as Christians putting down our roots as we learn to listen to God !

Even though we do not understand what is happening !

What a time to wait on God and wonder !

What a time for Moses and a chance to learn the ways of listening and hearing God !

Until the age of eighty or more how it must have seemed as if life were passing by

What was the meaning ! the purpose ! the hope ! the reason !

AND THEN when the time was right some 80 years later Moses is called for the purpose he was
made for

What a purpose and calling and what better person to fulfill such a task than the very person
who had known the highest places of the egyptian hiararchy, what a better person for the job than
someone who had learnt the roots of hearing and listening to God

But you know

It was God who led the people out of Egypt

And Moses who followed along with Aaron and Miriam and then the people

And so in The Exodus Journey we see that God hears

He hears the heart and all the words we speak and murmer along with the thoughts and heart motives

We see that there is nothing hidden from God and that may seem very scarey to some, but remember God has had access to all our thoughts and words from the day we were born

And even before that day He knew us and of us and planned each day before it ever happened and it was for us to make the most of each day and to respond to it

And in this is my free will

And in this is my is my judgement

Not a punishment as in "A Father hitting me or putting me into a dark room"

But as a Christian the punishment awaiting me is the judgement upon my responses and "free will motivations and heart motives" on each dilemna or problem of each day

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am

Depending on this is my "building" built and my new mansion prepared

In this is the lesser and greater

And once more we go back to the "John the Baptist" of time

Matthew 11:11

I tell you the truth: Among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he

And so God heard the murmerings of His enslaved people in Egypt and began the preparation of their freedom

Long ago after the time of Adam and Eve mankind was enslaved and God heard the murmerings of His peoples hearts and He in His foreknowledge set a plan in action to free people from the slavery of sin

This person to free the people was Jesus and in this we see a reflection once more in the Exodus Story

And so we ask the question

What is Prayer ?
