Psalm 42-44,
Depression and loneliness

Lord God in Jesus mighty name and by the precious blood of Jesus we come to you
and we enter into your courts and into your Holy of Holies and we lay down before you
as living sacrifices in Jesus name amen

Depression and Loneliness

Trust in The Lord, do not be discouraged

In Whom do we trust ? in Whom do we thirst ?

We come to Psalm 42 and 43 and 44 but we look firstly at

2 Chronicles 20

Here we have Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 being surrounded by enemies from
Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, some vast armies coming to take possession of a land
that did not belong to them.

These vast armies were marching towards the people of Judah and of Jerusalem ready
to conquer and to plunder the Lords possession

Here we have the Kings and armies of nations coming up against not just another
army or just another nation but coming up against the Lords anointed and appointed,
the Lords chosen and the Lords Armies

Here we have armies coming up against not just the people of Judah and Jerusalem
but coming up against God Himself and the armies of heaven

God had put His people in this place, God had chosen these people, it was Gods will
that they be where they were and let no man separate that which God has put together

And so Jehoshaphat prays to God and the Spirit of God falls upon Jahaziel son of
Zechariah and God speaks through Jahaziel and Jahaziel gives this message

'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not
yours, but God's. 16 Tomorrow march down against them. They will be climbing up
by the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the Desert
of Jeruel.

17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions;
stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the
LORD will be with you.' "

And so Jehoshaphat early the next day consulted the prophets and after seeking God
the People of Jerusalem and of Judah began to march forward and Jehoshaphat appointed
men to march at the front of the armies singing

"Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever."

The men of Ammon and Moab rose up against the men from Mount
Seir to destroy and annihilate them.

After they finished slaughtering the men from
Seir, they helped to destroy one another.

And when the armies of Judah and of Jerusalem came to the place of battle they found
only dead bodies

And so Jehoshaphat and His army took the plunder and there was so much plunder that
it took three days to collect it up

And after they returned to Jerusalem and they went to the Temple of The Lord, and they
worshipped God there with with harps and lutes and trumpets and praised God for the
victory

Note that at the greatest time of need they pray and worship as an army marching out to
war

----------

Now we turn to Numbers 16

Here in Numbers 16 we have a story of rebellion, we have Korah a man followed and
admired , a man of standing, a man who had many followers, a man who was in the place that God wanted him to be in, a man who was put in the position he was in because that was where God wanted him to be

And yet Korah wanted more, Korah had the wrong kind of thirst,
in fact Korah had stirred up a rebellion against Moses

Korah was a man held in high esteem who had many followers and who stirred up over
two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly,

Korah saw himself in the place of Moses and felt that he could take that which did not belong to him

Moses was in the right place, He alone was appointed and anointed to lead at this
time and we see a similiar situation here to 2 Chronicles 20 where men rose up and
sought to take a place that was Gods and Gods alone and we see a thirst for power

This is not a God given thirst or a thirst for God , but a thirst for more a thirst of man, a thirst for power

Korah and his followers were Levites assigned by God for a specific task and here we
see them stepping out of their God given role and task and not being content with what they have they try to take control of more and that which is out of their capabilities

These men had limitations, they never were assigned to lead the people of
God

As we saw earlier with the nations and armies marching towards Gods people, we must never try to come up against someone who has been appointed by God and we must know our limitations

For only God can call a man or woman to a task and give them the ability and the
anointing to do that task and for anyone else to come up against the Lords
anointed and to try to oppose and take them from their place is a dangerous thing indeed

Having said that "sometimes someone can be called to a position by God but can be opposed by leaders as a threat to their leadership and can actually go against Gods will "

But in this case and in these instances we see that men rose up against those placed by God to take over and this was the wrong thirst, it can be a thirst for power and for fame led by ego and by pride

And so Korah leads a rebellion against Moses in Numbers 16 and Moses becomes angry,

Note :

22 But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and cried out, "O God, God of the spirits of
all mankind, will you be angry with the entire assembly when only one man sins?"

So we see next that Moses speaks of the earth opening up and swallowing and we see
that Moses knows what is about to happen and the earth opened up under the men

28 Then Moses said, "This is how you will know that the LORD has sent me to do all these
things and that it was not my idea: 29 If these men die a natural death and experience only what usually happens to men, then the LORD has not sent me.

30 But if the LORD
brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have treated the LORD with contempt."

31 As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart

32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, with their households and all
Korah's men and all their possessions.

33 They went down alive into the grave, with
everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone
from the community.

34 At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting,
"The earth is going to swallow us too!"

35 And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the
incense.

--------

Now consider this

Exodus 20:5 (Amplified Bible)

5You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a
jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me

Exodus 34:7 (King James Version)

7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.

Numbers 14:18 New International Version

'The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.'

Isaiah 14:21

New Living Translation (©2007)
Kill this man's children! Let them die because of their father's sins! They must not rise and conquer the earth, filling the world with their cities."

As consider these scriptures we come to psalms 42,43 and 44

As we look to the Psalms of the Sons of Korah

These were the sons of Korah who led the rebellion against Moses and here we see
that David had appointed these levite men to be choir leaders and Temple musicians

Here they had written Psalms or music and here we see that far from the sins of the
fathers going down through the generations we see that these men were faithful men
who were in fact writing music and these psalms and expressing through their music
feelings and emotions and prophesying and speaking out and singing the
emotions of David as he lived and breathed

These were the sons of Korah, faithful men, levites, musicians and choir leaders writing and composing the Psalms 42 through to Psalms 49 ,inspired by the Holy Spirit of God

Here these psalms are written at the very time when David is exiled from Jerusalem,
he is far from the Temple in which he loved to worship

He feels abandoned and alone, he feels forsaken and lonely , he is thirsty for his God

This is at the very time of one of the festivals that you can read about in Leviticus chapter 23.

This was the time when Gods people were to be reminded of His goodness to
them and to be reminded of their commitment to God and to trust in His guidance
and protection ....to "trust in Him "

Is'nt it strange that at this very time when David was exiled from his place of Jerusalem and was unable to worship in Gods Temple that it just happens to be a festival that the people and David are to remember all that God had done for them ?

And why was David exiled from Jerusalem at this time ?

This was at the very time when his own son absalom had led a rebellion against His
father David and had plotted to take his throne

This was at the very time when David was running and depressed and lonely and forsaken

when it seemed as if his own friends and those he trusted had come against him in revolt

His own son had sought to take the throne and led men that were loyal to David and people that david trusted to rebell and try to take leadership

Do you see where we are going here ?

We almost see the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 being sung out in Psalm 44

We see the sons of Korah who led the rebellion against Moses being used by God and
we see Gods grace and mercy on these generations of levites from the Korah clan

We see david at the very time of His own son Absalom trying to take that which did not
belong to him away from his appointed and anointed father

And we see that absalom meets his fate in 2 Samuel 18:10-14 (New International Version)

Can you imagine how David felt being exiled from His own Jerusalem the place where
God had placed him when it seemd as if even davids closest friends had betrayed him ?

When even those he trusted who were has soldiers and leaders had rebelled against Him ?
It was like he was betrayed alone, rejected and despised, as if he was "forsaken " a man of sorrows....

Was it in fact a God time for David ? was it in fact a time appointed by God ?

Was it exactly the right time ? or did it just happen to be a mistake or error that at this
time of exile that it just happened to be the time when Gods people were to remember Gods goodness ?

A festival to remember the goodness of God and a time to thank God for all that He had done ?

No indeed not, this was Gods exact timing,

We may well have times when all seems against us when we feel alone and rejected when
all can seem against us and it can be at these times when we fall back on remembering
what God has done for us

At these times we can meditate on His word and thank God for His goodness

It can be at these time when instead of feeling sorry for ourselves and sinking into the depths of gloom that we can turn the table around and remember Gods goodness to us and times gone by, at these times we count our blessings one by one

These are the times when we are in the prison of gloom when we can start to praise God and see the Jail foundations shake and the chains break free

It is when we are in the jail of gloom that we can praise God and remember His goodness to us in times gone by and trust in Him

We are reminded that as Jesus hung on the Cross he said " I thirst "

At this point he had the sins of the world upon himself, at this point the earth grew dark, as God (I believe) turned His face away as He could not look upon sin and could not look upon His own beloved Son.

For He had the sins of the world upon Him and at this time
Jesus said " Father why have you forsaken me ? "

Here we see Jesus alone amd forsaken , rejected and despised where even His own Father had turned away and he was thirsty for He longed for the love of the Father.

He was thirsty for the Father and for the communion that He had with the Father to
be restored, but at this point, that was probably the only time in eternity ,
Jesus was separated from the Father

Any wonder why Jesus was thirsty ?

Interesting that it took three days for Jehoshaphat to gather the plunder is'nt it ?

Matthew 12:40

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

When alone we can identify with Jesus ......

When loneliness creeps in , it can be a tangible thing, you can almost touch it at times

I remember years ago when I first became as Christian knowing a loneliness that was so close I could touch it, it was a thirst and a longing, it was a loneliness that could be felt while in a crowd of people

I prayed to God to take away this loneliness and it was only afterwards that I realised for the first time that loneliness has nothing to do with being alone

The reason for loneliness can sometimes be because we do not identify with the people
around us, you see you can be in a room full of people and still be lonely,
you can still feel the loneliness....

it can be a feeling that hurts deep down and yet it can have nothing to do with being alone

Many can be lonely while they walk and talk with people, many can spend years being
lonely even in a marriage

Some of the loneliest people can in fact be people who can be seen on the outside to be very popular but actually on the inside can be emtpy and searching and seeking and
not happy at all

Being married does not answer the question of loneliness as does neither being in a room full of people

Loneliness in fact is often felt when you cannot idenify with others or when you know or feel that others do not identify with you

Once you have someone by your side who identifies with you, who walks with you, who
understands you, who relates to you, who shares with you, this is the answer to
loneliness....

And we have one whom we can identify with in all things, you see His name is Jesus,
who can idenify with us and we with Him

Once we identify with Him and understand that He identifies with us then you see
the loneliness is no longer

You can be a married but be very lonely person or you can be a single very happy person

Many people can live their lifes quite happpily as single people and be quite happy with their own company

Some howveer can have much company but feel loneliness because it is nothing to do with "how many frineds you have " or " how popular you are " or " If you are married or not "

Once you know someone who understands you and relates to you and feels as you feel and someone that can share your life with you and know that that person will never leave you and you can idenify with that person and they with you then and only then can the question of loneliness be filled and that emptiness be answered

Rejection again can be a painful thing and depression can seem like a cloud that never lifts

All these things can come together at once and feed on each other

But we see here that at the time of loneliness and of depression it can be a time of festival when we can remember Gods goodness to us, this can only do one thing and that is to lift us up

Here we have the Psalms anti depressant "

Here we have the lifter that lifted David out
of this time when His own Son had rebelled and David found himself exiled from his own Jerusalem

Here we read in psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water,so my soul pants for you, O God.

2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

4 These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him,

my Savior and 6 my God. My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock, "Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning, oppressed by the enemy?"

10 My bones suffer mortal agony as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long, "Where is your God?"

(Now think upon Mark 14:34)

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

You see Jesus was thirsty...

Here in Psalm 42 we read as the sons of Korah write inspired by the Holy Spirit

As the deer thirsts for water so my soull longs after you..

Thirst in whatever shape or form is a need, it is a deep longing for something that we once knew, it is a need for that which has been taken away

Your thirst may be a thirst for God that you once knew

Your thirst can be a thirst to be restored back into relationship and for a loneliness to go

Your thirst can be a thirst for God to quench and to fill you with the Holy Spirit that you once knew

Your thirst can be for your first love

Your thirst can be for a rejection or pain be taken away

Your thirst can be for anything that you once knew to be restored

There is a thirst however that can be for something you have never experienced but you simply know that something is missing in your life !!

This is a God given thirst, A God whole that can only be filled by God

Whatever your thirst might be at this time their is one who can quensh that thirst

He is the only one who can know you better than you know yourself, He is the only one
that knows what you are going to say or think next before you do

He is the one who knows what real thirst is like as He hung on a Cross for you and for me

He is the only one who can lead us beside the waters that can quensh that thirst and restore us to the place where we are meant to be, in the place where God wanted us to be

In our appointed and annointed place chosen by God in whatever walk of life that might be

And no one else can take that place that God has chosen for us, they can try as did
the enemies of Jehoshaphat, as did Korah, and as did Absolam, but in the end God will always put the person back in the place where He wants them in

Let the time of depression and loneliness be the time of festival to remember Gods
goodness to us and to be put back in our rightful place where God wants us to be with Him ,and to trust in Him

Let the thirst for God which encompasses all the thirsts that man can know and experience be filled with God who is the all in all

Identify with Him as He identifies with you, know that He knows, and feels as you feel

What is your thirst ?

Ask God to fill that thirst so the aching of loneliness can be gone, so that rejection can be healed, so the depression can be lifted, so the need can be met,

Let God drive those enemies out so that we can worship in His Temple

Ask Him now if you have a thirst , a longing, a need

Lord we come to you as people who do have needs, who can thirst for you, who long
to draw nearer to you, or maybe have hurts and pains or loneliness or depression, sadness or grief, hurt or rejection, and we come to you Father God in Jesus name and we pray that your Holy Spirit would minister right now Lord that you who identify with us will identify with you and long to be more like you

Lord whatever our need meet that need right now in Jesus name we bring our needs to you and we speak out those needs and longings and those thirsts that you would answer and we come to you now believeing that your word is true and right and that you will answer

Pray now and bring to God those thirsts and needs and know that He listens

In Jesus name amen

GODS ANGER,Psalm 41,

GODS ANGER

Author Guardian

Psalm 41,
GODS ANGER

Before I started to look into what the next Psalms were and before I began to see
what the message might be , I had a vision or picture of an object coming down and
slamming into something and after time I realised that this was the "Judges Gavel"

And this confirmed to me the message about to be given

Now We are going to be looking at Psalm 38,39,40 and 41

But before we begin lets introduce what I believe God wants to bring

I wonder sometimes at Adam and Eve being disobedient and being thrown out of the
garden of Eden !!

You see in the garden of Eden they were in perfect (1)"communion with God" but there
was a (2)"betrayer"

In fellowship with God as one, in relationship with God as it was intended....in
Union with Him and in full communication with God

But I wonder what went wrong ? I wonder why being in full "communion with God" and
in "Fellowship with Him " were they found to be with the betayer and why God seemed
to " Not be there ? "

I wonder if the root of the "disobedience" was not so much taking the fruit from
the tree, ...you see God said "DO NOT TAKE" now this could have been anything...

The fact is Adam and Eve were "disobedient" ...they did what God had told them
"not too "

There was nothing magical about the fruit, but the fact is God said " DO NOT TOUCH "

But I wonder if the root of this disobedience went back further ? I wonder why Adam
and Eve found themselves in this situation with the tempter (betrayer)in the first
place ?

I wonder if Adam and Eve had already walked out of "Communion " with God ? thus
placing themselves into the situation that resulted in the tempting and resulting
final disobedience that took them completely out of Gods precence?

I wonder where the root came from ? that took Adam and Eve to a place where they
were even confronted with the "betrayer" ?

And then we read that after Adam and Eve had sinned, God came walking to them in
the garden !!

And He asked them "what have you done ? "

As if God did not know ...you see what were they doing there anyway...that God
should walk to them ?

An so Adam and Eve were cast out of this "Communion " with God and they had met with
the "betrayer" and now the cloud of Gods anger led them into the miry clay

Lets pray

Lord God we commit all things to you and we commit this time to you and ask that
we would be directed by you and not wonder in our walk but in all our ways acknowledge
yuo, that YOU may direct our paths in Jesus precious name amen

Now lets turn to

2 Samuel 11:1:

1 Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out to battle, that
David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel, and they destroyed the
sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem.

I wonder now why David sinned ? was this an open door in Davids heart that the enemy
saw ? O how David sinned as he looked upon Bathsheba and took that which did not
belong to Him, as He took from the tree and tasted of sin.

O how he sinned as he sent bathshebas husband to his death and knowingly took her
as his own

You know its not fair really when you are a Child of God is it ?

You see the Kings of the nations and the Kings of other lands around about David
could take any women they so pleased, the Kings of other nations could live as they
so pleased , or at least seem too and get away with it !

They could have men , women and babies put to death as they pleased and treat their
subjects as if they were little more than nothing

And yet David looks upon a women and takes her as his own and what happens ?

The first child dies as a consequence,!!

David in Psalm 38 is very ill, he is on his sick bed, his back aches, he can hardly
walk,he is full of grief, david has a raging fever, exhausted and completely crushed.

He says "Psalm 38 (New Living Translation)

1 O Lord, don’t rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your rage!

2 Your arrows have struck deep, and your blows are crushing me.

3 Because of your anger, my whole body is sick; my health is broken because of my
sins.

4 My guilt overwhelms me— it is a burden too heavy to bear.

5 My wounds fester and stink because of my foolish sins.

6 I am bent over and racked with pain. All day long I walk around filled with grief.

7 A raging fever burns within me,and my health is broken.

8 I am exhausted and completely crushed. My groans come from an anguished heart.

David felt Gods anger upon him and felt that his condition was of God

This does not mean that all sickness or illness is a result of sin , nor does it
mean that all sickness or illness is sent to discipline and make us turn

But lets turn now back too the root of this sin...lets go back to samuel,
as we read this scripture again and look to where the root of the happening might
have began !!

2 Samuel 11:1:

1 Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out to battle, that
David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel, and they destroyed the
sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem.

AGAIN....at the time when kings go out to battle, BUT David stayed at Jerusalem.

We have to ask the question "was David where he was meant to be ? "

We looked briefly at the story of Adajm and Eve earlier and we wondered if they
were where they were meant to be ...did'nt we ?

I wonder if this was where the root of this problem arose ? was David at this
point in time really listening to God ? was he in (1)"communion" with God I wonder?

If he were then surely he would have been where God wanted Him to be and not looking
towards a certain female that led to this temptation ?

It seems there are times when we do not listen to God ? there may be times when we
are not walking with God, there may be times when it seems like God is a million
miles away , but then we find that we are a million miles away from God and God is
waiting for us to return, although He is always there with us, but our hearts may
drift away

It is very important to be where God wnats us to be...and once we are in "Communion "
with Him and sitting around His table enjoyting fellowship with Him we do not let our
hearts wonder away

Simply saying " I am going to do this or that ...so this or that must be what God
wants " is not enough

All of us know that we can wonder off, we all know that we have free will, we all
know that the Father will wait for us to return and the good shepherd will seek
and find us , and when He does he will lead us back, we all know that God will
sometimes wait for the prodigal to return and He will run to us on that "Day"
and welcome us back..

But lets go back briefly to David and being King...

I remember as a boy saying to my mother " They all do it mum, everyone else is
allowed too "

My mother would always reply, "they may be allowed to do that , BUT you are my son"

You know there were many Kings before and after David who did wrong in the eyes of
God and they came and went and they worshipped their gods and they lived their lifes
as they wanted, they seemed to get away with it as well and they seemed at times
to prosper

And here we have David, groaning in sickness and ill health and repenting before God
and asking God to turn from His anger .

I wonder if Adam and Eve repented ?

And so we have some things to ponder upon as we see that maybe Adam and Eve were
not in the place they should have been and we consider whether David was in the
place he should have been at that time

And so David seemed to be without Gods prescence like being cast out and he was in this
Miry clay of despair and it seemed as if a dark cloud of sin had blotted out the sun

Before we go on lets look at some scriptures concerning "Gods anger"

Psalm 7:11

New Living Translation

God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day.

Lets consider what the word "wicked" means ? and maybe wicked does not mean
just those who are locked away in some prison but in fact may be people you
meet everyday day or in fact those who are not walking in Gods ways or even
going against Gods will,

As in fact those who are demon possessed may not be those running around in graveyards
at night screaming and shouting but in fact may be people that you meeet everyday.

As in fact Some Christians who are oppressed by a spirit may be those you meet every
day who seem "quite normal "

I wonder why God is angry with the wicked ?

You see in Psalm 40 it mentions the heart...twice

Psalm 40:8 (New International Version)

8 I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."

Psalm 40:10 (King James Version)

10I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart;

And this takes us to 2 Corinhians 3:3

New Living Translation
Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you.
This "letter" is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living
God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.

And so David waits patiently for the Lord to deliver him out of the miry clay, to
set his feet upon the rock who is Jesus

Proverbs 8:13 (New Living Translation)

13 All who fear the Lord will hate evil. Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance,
corruption and perverse speech.

Nahum 2-3 (New International Version)

2 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled
with wrath.

The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.

3 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty
unpunished

His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Do not forget that we were once enemies of God.....

Romans 1:18 (Amplified Bible)

18For God's [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder
the truth and make it inoperative.

Romans 2:11-12 (The Message)

9-11 If you go against the grain, you get splinters, regardless of which
neighborhood you're from, what your parents taught you, what schools you attended.

But if you embrace the way God does things, there are wonderful payoffs, again
without regard to where you are from or how you were brought up.

Being a Jew won't
give you an automatic stamp of approval. God pays no attention to what others say
(or what you think) about you. He makes up his own mind.

Psalm 90:7-11 (New King James Version)

7 For we have been consumed by Your anger,And by Your wrath we are terrified.

8 You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your
countenance.

9 For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh.

10 The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are
eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off,
and we fly away.

11 Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath.

BUT we turn too

John 3:16-17 (New International Version)

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save
the world through him.

Psalm 90:1-2 (New Living Translation)

A prayer of Moses, the man of God.

1 Lord, through all the generations you have been our home!

2 Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world,
from beginning to end, you are God

You see David desired in his heart to seek after God even at the point of his sickness
and his unhappiness , he desired to return to God and repented, he desired for that
cloud of sin to be lifted from him and to return to "communion " with God

He desired in his heart to be taken up from that miry clay and to be placed on that
Rock who is Christ and to be lifted up into heavenly places with Him in fellowship

Davids heart was a heart that sought after God and David waited patiently for the Lord, and when you become a Christian you know that it does'nt always happen over night ,and you may realise that the spiritual is far greater and bigger than the material world that we see, and although it all happens in the spiritual it may be some time before you see it in the material/physical world

And David was at the stage where He has to wait and wait and wait and finally in
Gods time David is restored

So many were wanting David to fall, so many were waiting for David to slip away,
Psalm 38:11

11 My lovers and my friends keep away from my disease; my relations keep far away.

12 Those who have a desire to take my life put nets for me; those who are designing
my destruction say evil things against me, all the day their minds are full of
deceit.

Now we come to the Psalm 41 as we read....

Well we come to Psalm 41 and we read verses 1 - 8

And then suddenly the Holy Spirit takes over and David begins to speak about Jesus
sitting at the table sharing the bread and the wine , here in verse 9 we see Jesus
as David gives a prophetic utterance about Jesus which is one of many hundreds in
the Psalms

And we see a cross reference to Mark 14:18 and John 13:18

You see David waited patiently for the Lord, David was ill in bed, feeling empty,
he had been struck by a sickness, He was sad, alone and no one could save Him except
God...

David was in the Miry Clay, he could'nt walk with God he was maybe out of
"communion " with God, he repented but had to wait,

and in due time God lifted him up,
the cloud of sin that had separated him from God was lifted and the sun once again
shone and he was able to hide in the shadow of His wing, he once again found the haven, the refuge, the shelter, that is on the Rock of ages,

Not just a shelter from harm against those who were against Him and God but a shelter
and haven in Jesus ,

NOW ,we come to Psalm 41 and we read verses 9

Where David begins to speak about Jesus

sitting at the table sharing the bread and the wine , here in verse 9 we see Jesus
as David gives a prophetic utterance about Jesus which is one of many hundreds in
the Psalms

And we see a cross reference to Mark 14:18 and John 13:18

Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel
against me.

And so David here in the Psalms before Jesus ever sat at the table speaks of Jesus

Here we see Jesus sitting at the table and sharing the wine which was His blood and
the bread which was His body with His disciples at the table in perfect (1)"
Communion"

But at this (1)"Communion " there was one who was a betrayer .....as in the garden

Even the disciples did not know who this might be and asked " Who Lord ...who will
betray you ?

John 13:18-30

"I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill
the scripture: 'He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.'

Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have
dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas
Iscariot, son of Simon.

As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.

And you have to ask to question " where did the root of this come from ? "

You see Judas had walked with Jesus and the disciples, he had followed Jesus as his
Rabbi, he had walked behind Jesus , copying and walking in the dust of his Rabbi"

But there were times when Judas did not always stay in communion with Jesus, there
were times when he in fact had already began to be tempted and fell to temptation,
the table of communion with God has already been broken before Judas ever betrayed
Jesus with a kiss

And we ask the same question with Adam and Eve and we ask "were they where they
should have been ? why did God have to walk to them ? "

We have to ask the question also for David, "why was David not out in the spring
with his armies as Kings go to war ? what was he doing looking from his palace ?
was David where God wanted him ?"

And we look to Judas and we realise that Judas embezzled the money and funds of
Jesus and put his hands into the money that did not belong to him ...as David took
that which did not belong to him and as Adam and Eve took that which did not belong
to them

For Adam and Eve took the "Its my way " instead of " Its Gods Way"

And so we see that the root of this was started long before Judas sat at the table
with Jesus and he was not in "communion " with God and was not where he should have
been...even though he looked and appeared to all to be like any other on the outside

The cloud had covered him and the sun no longer shone and Judas was no longer under the
haven...the wing...the shelter...the refuge...the city...the protection of Jesus
that sheltered him from the anger of God or did Judas ever enter into Jesus ?

You see David spoke words of things that were to come in Psalm 41,
this is a word from God, this is the God whom was and is and is to come

This is David speaking of things to come, this is David speaking years in advance of
what was to happen.

This is God speaking from the past, the present and the future, this is the God of ages,
the great and mighty time traveller, who travels through time ...the TIME LORD
OF TIME LORDS and yet lives outside of time, the God that no one can fathom or
comprehend

He is outside of scientific analysis and outside of human comprehension

Here we see Judas the betrayer, here we see the darkness uncovered, her we see Judas
brought to light, here we see a man that had put his hands into the funds of Jesus

You see time and time again Judas had been given the opportunity to repent

New International Version

Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus had known from the beginning
which of them did not believe and who would betray him.

John 6:70 (New International Version)

70 Then Jesus replied, "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a
devil!"

John 6:71 (New International Version)

71 He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was
later to betray him.

I wonder if at times Judas was not in the place he was meant to be ?

I wonder if his heart layed in the wrong places ?

He was putting his hands into the money that was meant for the Lord of Lords and it
meant "consequences"

You see he was out of "Communion " with God, and he would be cast out
of Gods prescence and HE who shared in the "Communion " would in fact be
cast out of the "Garden "

You see we all have a place in the creation of God, we all have a place in the new
creation

We all share in the inheritance of God, we are all "Saved " we are all " Adam and
Eves "

BUT the simnple fact remains within the heart of each and every person

Are we in the right place ? where is the root of our hearts?

Are we as adam and eve in the wrong place with God ?

Are we as David..................... in the wrong place ?

Are we sitting at the "Communion " table having embezzled the funds that were meant
for Jesus ?

Are we listening to the wrong voice ?

Or are we as David ?

Seeking after Gods heart? you see Paul, found the answer, in whatever circumstance
in whatver situation, in whatever trial or tribulation.

Even when in prison Paul praised God

You see God hates sin but not the sinner, in fact God loves the sinner and gave his
Life for the sinner,

And lifts us up, the sinner from the dirt and miry clay and sets His or Her feet upon
a Rock' that is Christ, and gives then a haven, a refuge , a fortress, a sanctuary,
a refuge. when God looks at a person in Christ , he see's His Son Jesus
and all the anger of God was placed upon Jesus on the Cross

All the judgement and anger of God was put upon Jesus

You see its not about us but about what Jesus has done

When God looks upon a person in Christ he see's not a sinner but a new creation.

When God looks upon a person in Christ He see's not a fallen Adam and Eve or a
forgotten David or a sinner but He see's Jesus

The person who repents and turns to God is lifted up from the Miry Clay and seated
in heavenly places with Christ as an heir and adopted child

They who walked in the darkness of the cloud of sin see a great light and that light
shines through the cloud and the cloud is lifted so that the sin is no more

They are raised up and God puts a new song in their hearts , a song of praise to our
God, so that like David they can praise the living God

The cloud of sin is lifted, the banned person is freed, the dead person is alive
the person who was in the wrong place and once an enemy of God and under Gods anger
and the "Judges Gavel" can be hidden in Christ and seated with Christ, under his wing
and in His haven and sanctuary and City, refuge and shelter

The wrath of God went upon Jesus on the Cross instead of us

Its not about what you can do to save yourself
but it is all about what He can do, its no longer David in the sick bed , but its
about David restored, its no longer about Adam and Eve cast out its about
Adam and Eve being back in communion with God

Its no longer about sin but about repentance and forgivensss.

We are being made more like Jesus every day as Christians...

Lets look briefly at 2 Kings 4:8-37 (New International Version)

And verse 34 Then he got on the bed and lay upon the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to
eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out upon him, the boy's body grew warm.

You see God brought somone back to life using Elisha, mouth to mouth, eye to eye,
hands to hands,!!

Jesus can bring you back to life....mouth to mouth, eye to eye,
hands to hands,!!

You can be a reflection of Him as you gaze into His eyes and speak His words and
are used by Him, He can bring the dead who are under Gods wrath to life

You can be His mouth piece, His hands, His eyes.....

He lifts us up from the pit as He did Jesus and sets our feet in high places with
Jesus,

For the world is set to decay and mortal death but in Jesus God see's His son

All the anger and wrath of God was poured upon Jesus and it was finsihed

the "Judges Gavel" has come down and we are declared " INNOCENT "

This does not mean that we can do as we wish as we see with Daivid, but it means
that we can be restored and be in communion with God and go on being saved

Repentance is not just about words, repentance is a visible thing, it means that
when a person "Repents" there is a change of direction in that persons life.

The "wrong " or "sin " is revealed and the person repents before God and there is
a change in that person and the person no longer walks in that way,

"REPENTANCE IS VISIBLE"

Maybe you cannot repent? then ask God to give you the desire to repent and maybe
you feel that it would be impossible for you to change ? then repent anyway and
ask God to give you the strength because HE CAN DO IT

This is an ongoing salvation of God

You see we who were aliens and strangers to God have been restored

WE whom were under the cloud of anger and judgemnent have been released by the
"Judges Gavel" and been announced " Free "

we who walked in sin and have been under Gods anger have been released and set free
from judgemnt and the anger of God , and we hide under the shadow of His wing and
we shelter in Him who died on the Cross

Who is our rock and fortress and our haven and when god looks at us He see's Jesus

Jesus is our haven and fortress and shelter and the wrath of God is not upon us

And we are lifted up from the Miry clay, and we are lifted up from our sin and death
and we are alive in Christ and death has no hold on us

we are seated in heavenly places with Him and the cloud of sin is removed

Are you in "Communion " ?

Or are you cast out ?

Its all to do with you heart

Am I in the right place with God ?

Or am I under His anger ?

He can pull me out of that Miry world and set my feet upon a Rock when I have been
in the wrong place, and when He see's me returning He runs to me on that day

He can pull you out of that Miry World and make you into a son or daughter making you
rise up on eagles wings and seating you in Him that you would be in that haven and
sanctuary of His protection,

that you would no longer be under Gods anger and but be
saved by grace and know His loving protection as you walk in the fear of Him who
delivers you from the fear that is not of Him

DO YOU WANT TO BE SENTENCED ? OR DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE ?

Speak to the Judge now and He will listen and say "NOT GUILTY"

Lord God , great Judge and ruler of all , release me and set me free, forgive me...
I repent and turn to you, fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me a heart that
deires you

Lord Judge and haven and sanctuary, let me hide in you and know the freedom that you
give, I give my life to you now in Jesus name Amen

KINGDOM GATES,Psalm 24,Part 2,

Temple of Vespa, Temple of Castor & Pollux
Temple of Vespa, Temple of Castor & Pollux (Photo credit: QXZ)
AUTHOR GUARDIAN (Gatekeeper)

PART FOUR
KINGDOM GATES

LIFT UP YOUR HEADS OPEN THE GATES

His Story

KINGDOM GATES

Ancient doors open up for the King Of Glory

The people outside the Temple Gates would call out for the Temple gates to be opened .. .

From inside the Temple the people would cry out.." WHO IS THE KING OF GLORY " .

From outside the Temple Gates the people would cry out " THE LORD STRONG AND MIGHTY, THE LORD MIGHTY IN BATTLE " .

The people would cry out over and over again.. .

THEN the Temple Gates would swing open .

This is was the tradition at this time .

Let us come to Jesus and cry out that the gates of our temples would be flung open and that the King of Glory would enter into every area of our lifes .

His Story

Its History and its His Story, its all about Him and History,

Psalm 24:7...open up ancient gates (JOB 38:10 when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, )and whole chapter

We Yield to Him, as creation yields to Him, as the Temple doors had to open and death itself had and has to give up and Hell trembles and heavens doors open wide

Behold He stands at the door and knocks, who will open?

But do not be stiff-necked as your fathers were, but yield yourselves to the Lord... 2Chronicles 30:8

Yielding is seen as as weakness in this society, but yielding to Jesus is strength to those who know Him, it is about complete trust

Lift up your heads you gates of bronze , you gates of iron yield

"WHO IS THIS KING OF GLORY ? "

" THE LORD OF HEAVENS ARMIES , HE IS THE KING OF GLORY "

BEHOLD HE STANDS AT THE DOOR AND KNOCKS AT YOUR HEART

BEHOLD HE ENTERS IN

BEHOLD THE TEMPLE HOLDS HIS SHEKINAH GLORY

WE SURRENDER TO HIS WILL, WE YIELD..............

OUTSIDE THE CITY GATES

City Gates

"And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull" (Matthew 27:33) .

Jesus was led to a hill outside of the city, a place set apart for the dead...a place separated for the " unclean "

But we do not call "unclean " those that God has made "clean "

Neither do we put on display a cup thats looks clean on the outside but is dirty within

Only Jesus can make us clean on the inside so that we can put away religious signs of outside
purity but inside filth

We are separated , made Holy, Made clean, the separated ones

We walk the hill and are the set apart ones, although anyone can be set apart,

We surrender to Him, we the "Abrahams of faith" put down and surrender all to Him ,
He surrendered all

THE HILL

The Rock was Struck

The Rod struck the Rock who was Christ And from this Rock flowed and flows streams of living waters And He leads us beside those still waters With His rod and staff not in anger, as those who struck the Rock But He leads us and directs us as those who never struck Him

And the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us .
And now the word comes to flesh and dwells in us)
Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for
men to search their own glory is not glory. .

The word that has more to be desired than gold , more valuable than precious rubies, more
costly than the finest of stones, more beautiful than the emeralds that shine , more to be
desired are the words of God, for the treasure of earth is in heaven and to find the treasure
is to find God...) Psalms 119:103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! .

As we lick at the honey ( The Word Of God ) we find sweetness in lifes bitter waters, as
Moses broke the branch at the bitter waters of Marah to make the waters drinkable and to find purification for the body.

Proverbs 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter
thing is sweet. . (And so we sit by the waters with Jesus and we eat the fish and the honeycomb bringing sweetness by the bitter waters of the sea) .

Luke 24:42-43 (King James Version) 42And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. 43And he took it, and did eat before them.

THE ROCK

The Riddle

Could God form a rock so large He would be unable to move it ? .

What is the answer to this riddle ? .

What a paradox, what is the answer? .

Nothing is impossible with God . There is nothing He cannot do .

All things are possible and nothing is impossible .

1. And yet there are some things that Are Impossible for God !! .

God cannot lie, it is impossible for God to lie .

2. And there are some things that God will not do !! .

He will not force you to love Him .

The Paradox Of God .

Herein lies the answer to the riddle of the Rock .

He can make a rock that is soo big He cannot move it.....but He won't.. .

Herein lies true exercising of power...the Power Of God .

Instead we have the Rock that He will not move who is " Christ " .

CRUCIFY HIM

Crucifixion

Jesus summarizes the entirety of God's law in two simple commands: love God, and love your
neighbor. Love for our neighbor should flow naturally out of our love for God.

Matthew 22:37-40 (New International Version)

37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Love....the word love has so many meanings to so many people, We can say " I love you" and yet with the same breathe a few years down the line we can say something quite different.

The people exclaimed " Hail King Jesus" as He rode into Jerusalem and put down their cloaks
and waved palm branches andn yet with the same breathe a while later shouted " CRUCIFY HIM "

Ooo the heart of man, how wicked those that put the Son on the Cross, O too imagine that those whom, put Him on the Cross with the same breathe would announce Him

" Lord of Lords
and King of Kings In their own lifes ..as He calls them into His family and makes them joint
heirs to reign with Him in Eternity"

"Love " can we really love as God loves ? we whom vow to love and to cherish til death us do part as we calculate our benefits and our inherited lot from the partnerships we form with others
?

Do we really love our enemies ? do we even love the closest to us ?

Do we even know what love is ?

No one can know the true love of God ...for the true real love of God will be known when we
see Him face to face and we are melted by His Love and we tremble at His prescence, when we
fall down and cry out to Him who sits on the throne and we feel that love fill every part of our being.

Let love be your greatest aim, ask God for the gift of love, for love that is of God is far greater
than any other gift

This song kept coming to my mind today...be blessed..and seek the greatest gift of all

I BELIEVE -

He Is Risen

Romans 8:20-23 (New Living Translation)

20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,
21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom
from death and decay.

22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the
present time.

23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of
future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,
including the new bodies he has promised us.

Isaiah 55:12

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song
before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Creation waits in eager anticipation...groaning in the pains of childbirth, and we see that we as
Christians are "New Creations "

For when we were in death and decay, Jesus came and spread the light of the Good news into
our hearts and lifes and though we were in sin and decay , God swallowed us up in His great love and light and spewed us onto the shore of hope and glorious freedom ,

That we might go and spread the good news accross the land and tell the people to repent and turn to God for the
time is near when all of creation will bow down to the Ancient of Days.

And we go and put on our shoes of the gospel to preach to those who are in prison, that they might be free, We the Jonahs of our time are on the great commission. And where ever we go creation knows we are the sons of God, born and adopted and new creations, walking in a world
still to be released from the curse.

REBUILDING THE WALLS OF JERUSALEM

Rebuilding The City

-----------------------------
Nehemiah 4:6

So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.
-----------------------------

And so all the families worked together to rebuild the walls of the City, the priests and the sons
and daughters, the perfume makers and the goldsmiths and the merchants, in fact anyone who could move were called by God to rebuild the walls

STAY STRONG, YOU HAVE YOUR ARMOUR AND WEAPONS BY YOUR SIDE, HIS NAME IS JESUS

None had probably ever put their hands to such a task, none were skilled at building, except for
the head builder God, the priests who had dedicated their lifes to God found themselves picking up stones and laying the walls

The Goldsmiths who had taken on their jobs as their fathers did before them and throughout
the generations where the family trade had been handed down to them found themselves being
instructed as to the building a the wall

Each family had a portion, each family had a task, all were assigned a wordload, adult or young,
old or poor, rich or in want

The perfume makes and fabric makers, the baker and the soldier, the mother and the babe, these families worked together as instructed and built their sections of the wall

None had specialist knowledge, none had specialist training, none had done a course or had
training

Here they found themselves building walls, the City Walls, together

And even though they were weak and few God gave them strength

But of course they faced opposition

Nehemiah 4

16 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah 17 who were building the wall.
Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, 18 and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as
he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

If you are doing Gods work you will face opposition

The first thing once the walls were built was to sort out disputes and of course money

But we read

Nehemiah 6

15 So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth of Elul, in fifty-two days. 16 When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence,
because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.

Turn The Clocks Back

Throughout centuries mankind has come and gone, generation after generation, like grass that grows and withers, each generation witnessing the creation of God and His handywork .

It seems at times life is so short, we merely begin to grasp life when it is taken from us, it is therefore meaningful to understand the meaning of life and why we are here

So many begin to reach out and merely grasp at a religion or cult that purely changes the
lifestyle but not the inward person

So many would like to go back and change the past or merely go back to the past to re live a certain thing and yet if they were to go back it would not be as they had imagined
We can never
turn the clock back, we can never go back to the past and yet so many live in the past ...not
living for the present or the future, we can learn from the past but not let the past become our
god.

We see so many films like DR Who and SCI FI movies of time travel

And yet when a person is transformed in the spiritual and becomes a Christian they become
time travellers with God, becasue God is the great time traveller

He can go back to the past with you and heal those wounds, He can be with us in the present
time and also put us at the right hand of the Father right now and we already being saved become future.

Christians evolve and are the great evolutionists and Christians are the great time travellers having God in us the hope of Glory who is our Glory both past present and future, the one who was and is and is to come is in US

Hold onto your dreams, the dreams of Joseph will be,for Joseph is King of Kings -

One of the main things God was speaking to me about during my time at the Bible week I went to recently was about dreams, the theme for the week was " God of the impossible "

This is mission impossible, but with God all things are possible

But the dreams kept popping up all through the week on holiday, and God spoke to me about "
holding onto dreams"

I keep words given written down in front of my pc, and I hold onto these words, they are in full
view to remind me of what God has said

But I also have dreams that God has given in the past, three dreams in particular

Whatever we may be going through, whatever may come our way, whatever "hole" we find ourselves in, whatever "well" we seem to be stuck in

whatever "prison" we may face, whatever hardship or trial, whatever false allegation is made
against us, whatever wrong we feel has been done against us

Remember to hold onto your dreams , as Joseph held onto His dreams

The Joseph inside of you is Jesus

And all shall bow down to Jesus

Hold onto your dreams, the dreams of Joseph will be,for Joseph is King of Kings -

Lord God In Jesus name we let these words come back to remembrance when needed and let
the power of the Holy Spirit chnage lifes and hearts in Jesus name amen
