PSALM 119, THE IMAGES OF THE ALPHABET

                                                           ABOUT PSALM 119

Being the  longest Psalm 119  is one of the  acrostic poems found in the Bible  and has 22 letters speaking out messages or images from the Hebrew alphabet.

Psalm 119 is a prayer and meditation of God's precepts, laws,Judegment, statutes  and word.

God's preceptive will is that we follow His precepts as in  Romans 12:2, "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Now I want to focus on the Holy Spirit and His inspiration bringing light to every situation as we allow Him .

Before beginning this study "I had a picture/image of a person continuing to blow from His mouth and this breath was the Holy Spirit"

                                                            LETS PRAY

Lord Father God we give this time to you now and ask that You would speak to us through Your Word.

Lord God provider of the Holy Spirit, beathe new breath into us today and fill our house with Your prescence as we commune with You.

Fill this tabernacle with Yourself and let the Jesus in me know that you have not forsaken me.

Now sitting at your right hand , let the babe inside of me grow as I allow Him to grow...

Blow that breath into my life in Jesus name Amen.

Lets look at the first letter of the hebrew alphabet...

Aleph speaks from Psalm 119:2 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.

Aleph, a letter is telling us to communicate - that God's will be done [His preceptive will] and this is Romans 12:2.

LET THE LETTERS SPEAK - LET THERE BE LIGHT

Now we see that the hebrew letter /image for nun psalm 105 is a seed sprouting up and the Light is the root - that can give LIGHT TO THE world/WORD, not just a flickering candle - but a Light that makes other roots grow.

The image for beth is [house or tent] and Aleph [first letter of the hebrew alphabet]is an ox head which sygnifies  "stength/power/tower of strength/oxen.

Indeed it would make an interesting study to find all the 22 letters of the hebrew alphebet and find their images and meanings...[extra study for you ]

As each persons name had a meaning, so each hebrew letter had a meaning and image, now you see how Jesus used parables/images to speak a message.

Resh was a head image/symbol and so now look at verse Psalm 119:153  do you begin to see how this sheds light on each of these 22  letters ?

Beth speaks 15I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.

Resh says 157 Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes.

Zayin [the image of the sword] speaks in verse 49 ; Remember your word to your servant,

Now look at nun who says 105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Proverbs 6:23 For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to  life

                                                HABITATION OF GOD

I want to focus on "beth" or "bet" - "beit" we know that beth-lehem is the house of bread and beth is the "house"/tent/tabernacle, a place of dwelling..."lehem is bread"

Beth is a place of habitation, a place of dwelling ..

Now biblical hebrew is read backwards - from right to left .

It is supposed that when chiselling out stone the right hand would be used to hold the hammer and the left the chisel - therefore the letters are written from from right to left ...

Now lets go to bethel Genesis 35:7 There he built an altar, and he called the place El Bethel, because it was there that God revealed himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother.

El Bethel is the  "God of the house"

Here Jacob ran to bethel Genesis 28:20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear,

And so there are many houses in which God dwells and tabernacles and we see the second letter of the hebrew alphabet as our house, a place in which God dwells.

Now I want to go back to my picture of a person breathing "I had a picture/image of a person continiuing to blow from His mouth and this breath was the Holy Spirit."

                                                CONTINUE TO BE FILLED

Famine can occur as in Ruth 1:1  here Bethlehem knew famine and so we need to be continually filled [ongoing bread of Life] an ongoing walk to receive the bread....

But remember that Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea,

And so you see how the symbols of the hebrew alphabet are images and how they also have meanings [as the names of people did]

The message here is that God can speak through the simplest means and fill that house [your house  - ]with His Holy Spirit and you  can have God dwelling in you  by His Holy Spirit.

You  THE "beth" can be full or know famine....[this is up to you]

You are the tent, the tabernacle, the house, the Church, that belongs to God and You [you] have God in you, the dwelling place of God, Jesus is born in You  and is or can develop/ or is  developing inside You .

You are attracting people by your Light/star/star of bethlehem/ [word Nun]  the bread of life/ people will come to you and be attracted by you/the incense/ the aroma of Christ beng birthed  2 Corinthians 2:15.

You are the "beth" [Or can be ] a House  in which God dwells....

Thankyou Father for the blessings in the season of  storms - that the "beth" can know fullness and need.In Jesus name Amen
