Psalm 130, WHO CAN STAND.

 Psalm 130, WHO CAN STAND.

Again we return to Israel and an unknown author - as they struggle with sin and the depths of it.

Before looking at this Psalm - I have two pictures.

The first is of a rain drop hitting a pool of water and the ripples made by it - as it produces ripples affecting the water around..

And secondly I have a picture of a waterfall that flows down to a great depth and cascades down..

Depth seems to be the picture here and influence around.

The water seems to be significant ...in this picture.

It is a downward spiral ...

I cannot see anymore than this - and so lets begin looking into Psalm 130.

With Psalm 130 we continue in the same path as  Psalm 129 with an unknown author praying from the depths of despair and  sin, whether that depth brings with it  depression, sadness, despair, oppression, darkness, poverty, rejection, shame, fear,  and any culmination of these and more.

The bird is in this place due to sin and cries out to God from these depths.

Israel is under a new ruler and is a remnant of what it was.

Yet even in this place we see God do amazing things through Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, here even though Israel had lost it's identity and had no home - Yet God still uses His people in this situation and circumstance. 2 Corinthians 12:9 :

Now their new names were taking away their individuality Daniel 1:7 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

Now we know that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, would not bow down to the statue of  Nebuchadnezzar and about the fiery furnace and Daniel  [now named - Belteshazzar] in the lions den and these were  great miracles  of God [in a foreign land]

Here in these depths of despair God gives Belteshazzar [Daniel] a vision to interpret the dream of  Nebuchadnezzar Daniel 2:19

This is a very similiar parallel to Joseph in egypt, the only difference being that Joseph did what God wanted  [by folowing God and the dreams /visions] and found himself in this dark place due to obedience and no fault of his own.

Where as Daniel and his friends were in their place [babylon] under [bondage/imprisoned/oppressed/ ]  due to Israels sin/disobedience/.

As with Joseph King Nebuchadnezzar put Daniel in a high place Daniel 2:48  ...

Now back to Belteshazzar's [Daniel's] neighbours/friends/family/   Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were lifted up from the depths Daniel 2:49 Moreover, at Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.
Meanwhile the speckled bird looked for the waterfall or a ripple, when God would lift it up and give it flight - that it may return to it's home and God might hear it's prayer.

Here others of the "Lord" [Israel now under exile and bondage] continued under persecution/bondage/inprisonment/but a remnant/ destitute,alone,forsaken/

God used a few to proclaim His mighty acts while under babylonian rule while exiled - but many continued to cry out from the depths and too interceed on behalf of Israel and hope [for God had plans to propser them and not to harm them - to a hope and a future. And this is the Psalm 130 and where it comes from.

So God would save this nation yet again . [In His time] and this was prophesied by Daniel in Daniel 9:12  :  and so the exile and depths - lasted 70 years and a new generation re entered the land/home/restored/redeemed/.

We must note "that God still continued to use His people while in their depths/exile/ [whether they are mentioned in scripture or not]

We have to wait a generaton or more  for the a king called cyrus to release the captive bird and for  God to relent amd bring His people back to their homes and to their identity.

Here Israel stood and rose up [like the speckled bird]

Whether you  are in the place you are in because you serve the Lord or you are in this  place  because you have rebelled against the Lord - we see in these two instances and parallels that   - God will use rise up  and bring you  out and renew you  =  up to new levels . this is the eleventh step.

Okay - I will let scripture now prophecy what happened and things that will happen . [also applies to individuals NOW]

Isaiah 47:11  Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you.
[which it did and does]

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things.  and maybe this scripture might be looked at here in this context of the prophecy of Isaiah pertaining to "the captivity of Israel in babylon"

Here the people are in a deep/dark place. [that God had sent them too - but which they also created themselves]

Isaiah 44:27 who says to the watery deep, Be dry, and I will dry up your streams, 28 who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, Let it be rebuilt, and of the temple, Let its foundations be laid.

"The waterfall and the fallen water affecting those around"

Isaiah 45:13 I will raise up Cyrus in my righteousness: I will make all his ways straight. He will rebuild my city and set my exiles free, but not for a price or reward, says the LORD Almighty.

God used King Cyrus to release Israel.

Isaiah 46:11 From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do.

This is not the speckled bird - nor Nebuchadnezzar [the golden eagle] raised up by God for a purpose to create the darkness in Isaiah 45:7  - BUT king Cyrus in   Jeremiah 48:40 raised up by God to deliver Israel. [another bird of prey] you also know that God is likened to an eagle  Deuteronomy 32:11

The speckled bird however is Jeremiah 12:9 Has not my inheritance become to me like a speckled bird of prey [color=blue]that other birds of prey surround and attack  [Now God rises to create  light in the darkness]

Isaiah 48:9 For my own names sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to destroy you completely.

Isaiah 48:20 Leave Babylon, flee from the Babylonians! Announce this with shouts of joy and proclaim it. Send it out to the ends of the earth; say,  The LORD has redeemed his servant Jacob.

Isaiah 49:9 to say to the captives, Come out, and to those in darkness, Be free! They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.

Isaiah 49:21 Then you will say in your heart, Who bore me these I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up I was left all alone, but these where have they come from

Isaiah 58:12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings

Okay so the watchman of the city watch over the city  until the dawn ...it is like being in a darkness that will never end [an oppression] it goes on and on and seems to be in vain - until one day God raises up a person [eagle] that permits the speckled bird to leave and go back to it's home.

Now the light has dawned and it is likened to a dream - now the third watch has seen the Light of dawn ...

The watchman did not wait in vain as God raised up Israel yet again [as an eagle]

Again and Again God raises up people and this nation - this is the song of ascents.

Here scripture speaks for itself

Although your  future is by faith - your future can also lead you into dark places [into the depths] what of your faith now ?

There is a time when God will lead you out of this dark place - not by your faith but by His mercy and grace...

Lord God thankyou for raising up the eagles in their time and to cause them to fly - for the specific purpose of directing Your people - thankyou that You care enough to do this -so that You might lead Your people back home.

Thankyou Lord that You cared enough to raise up these eagles and that they were the sign /route/clear path/ and John the baptist of their time/ to not just draw people - but to lead them back to Youself.

Even though we do not "always Like Your ways"

In Jesus name Amen

Psalm 129, The furrows of the plow

Psalm 129, The furrows of the plow

Okay - I have Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Here I an drawn back to Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
here God's Church was persecuted while in egypt - yet grew in number and they knew  abundance under persecution and egypt could not prevail agianst this mighty force. [as it grew in number]

It seem's whatever came up against the early Church -  would  never prevail

Abundant life after the desert experience where they experienced that which they did not deserve... [it was if a dream - another exile to deliverance]

The Hebrew slave experience brought healing..

[end of metaphor]  your homework [to find out how many metaphors of the early Church there are - where slavery and persecution became a rebuild and healing]

I have had a vision for many days of a bird of prey picking up a branch in its beak - I have a new season beginning and the spring and new hope.

The bird is as clear as clear and actually  it is time to begin rebuilding.

This picture is so clear as the bird begins to rebuild yet another nestn and I almost become familiar with this .

No idea what this means - and so lets begin another study.

No idea where we are going here - so lets light another torch and see where we go.

One thing is clear this bird /person/ is about to begin rebuilding.

Now the vision begns to make sense to me, I read Psalm 129:1 - yes this is the speckled bird I saw as few days ago.

She is in Jeremiah 12:9 Has not my inheritance become to me like a speckled bird of prey that other birds of prey surround and attack? Go and gather all the wild beasts; bring them to devour.

Yes and this is the furrows - it begins to make sense now

I have onlly just read this psalm and had no insight before - and so this is really a revelation to me and wow- hello bird..

Of course the bird is Israel - but is also the Church under persecution, which takes us to exile and redemption/restoration/again and again, as the bird returns each season to build another nest.

The speckled bird must return each season to begin rebuilding...

Israel beginning with Adam and Eve [exiled from the garden "yet restored"

I  see this as a "person" nation / as Abraham Isaac and Jacob/ or beginning with Joseph who was led to Egypt by his brother and their furrows /scourges/ like a whip upon the back/ like a bird that has been pecked by all the birds around/ like a Church persecuted/ like a single bird going back to a nest time and time again/ lets begin rebuilding/ for this is the way I am made/season after season/.... Sorrow upon sorrow/ indeed seven sorrows/. many birds .

The resurrection in peoples lives...

And so end of insight and lets begin the bible study @ Exodus 1:11-22...  beginning with the people in captivity in Egypt and their restoration [as the bird yet again flies its nest/ in it's season]

And so the workers/labourers/plowman/ here, are not like those in well known metaphors of the New Testament or to be compared with them, as these are not working in the vineyard [world] as those mentioned or ploughing the ground to prepare it for fruit or harvest. [but in a strange way are used to prepare the way for God -  in people]

Instead the plowman here are those  mentioned in Exodus 1:11-22   those egyptian taskmasters who whipped and scourged the backs of the hebrew people and this is the ploughing mentioned in Psalm 129:3

The plowman  can be seen as Joseph's brothers selling him to slavery or Nebuchadnezzar seizing Jerusalem and taking captives into exile.

Here the plowman are those delivering stikes again and again to Israel all through scripture and into the prophesied future or past Luke 21:20

Their plows are like the scourge of the whip on the back- that turn and strike again and again.

Can be likened to Israel and her suffering throughout the ages - and do not forget Israel's youth - but we should not forget the sufferings of Christ and His Church - as in Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Only here with Jesus Christ we see that the  oppression and suffering - has a purposes and  a meaning and a purpose and a cause....

Now we return to Matthew 16:18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Jesus has cut us from the cords of the enemy - therefore they will not prevail /overcome/

Again and again God takes charge and delivers the speckled bird of Israel - this bird is like no other, she is chosen/set apart/ unique/ and this is why others around - attack her.

This imagery here in this Psalm conveys many things - but we should not take this particular metaphor too far - as it is simply used as a picture to convey an image /impression.

It can be seen as a double metaphor or double entendre - [the plow being the whip upon the back of the bird]

Here the bird appears over and over and season after season - in scripture.

But in Christ the plowman have a purpose ...

Have you ever seen moss grow on a roof ? in this day and age we will often see this - due to the birds.

After a time of drought this moss will fall from the roof and into the gutters and soon to be cleaned out by people like myself @ http://www.tjscleaningservices.co.uk/Gutter-clearing

In this naton of Israel flat roofs would grow grass and this grass would only be short lived as it was only dependent upon the soil distributed by the "bird"...

At the same time the seeds - could not grow without the rains that God provides.

Here in this illustraton/picture/ God is soveriegn and has the power over the rains.

Now the grass whithers and falls 1 Peter 1:24 this is perishable seed, here today and gone tomorrow - like the grass on the rooftop - that dies and is fades away and this is  Psalm 129:6 May they be like grass on the roof, which withers before it can grow.

Psalm 37:2 For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb. -  this was a prayer of King david - yet Psalm 129 is an unkown author - I like to think of this Psalm as a psalm of Israel [the speckled bird]

I like to consider this Psalm as a song of Israel and her history - yet of course the Author is Jesus and by His stripes /scourges / we are healed.

Simply because He sowed the seed n the right places.

Here God scatters the seed - but the  birds  gather it - Matthew 13:4

The birds here in this imagery [Psalm 129] are people throughout the history of Israel who have pecked and persected the speckled bird [Israel - Christ/Church  - or His people] they here in this psalm are like the grass on the roof [that whither and die] their attacks had no lasting affect. [eternal/spiritual]

They are rhe sowers on the rooftops in Matthew 13:4 the attackers of the speckled bird.

Psalm 128, Walking in God's way.

Psalm 128, Walking in God's way.

A general rule and observation, Psalm 128 is a  family Psalm  with applications that cannot always be applied - to Christian family life.

Many children, -  does not naturaly mean "more blessing" [depending on the influences upon them [in this day and age ] but also upon their ways and how they walk and how their walk affects yours as a parent [remember times have moved on since this Psalm was written.

[therefore I would recommend not applying this particular word to your life or acting upon  it.

Depending on what you see as "God's blessing" as God's blessing can be disguised as troubles and turmoil [at times] as in the story of Job.

Whereas the Jews may have seen blessing in monetary terms or properity as cattle and herdsmen /servants/ The Apostle Paul encountered many trials as did John and all those who belonged to God. [who were seen as "early disciples"

Some being sawn in two / crucified upside down / dipped in bioling oil/ skinned alive - etc.

Many may not see this as "happy" or [blessed] indeed there is a Cross to carry [as stephen lifted his eyes to heaven in Acts 7:55 we realise that blessing has many connotations.

Thus we must conclude that -psalm 128 is a general rule "of a fear of the Lord" and the blessing that comes from fear "in His Love" or reverence of Him.

I remind people here of Matthew 10:21  and rather "the persons general walk and fear /reverence of God and perservering through the blessings/trials/tribulatons/ will ultimately be seen and remembered/ and receive reward. [at a point in time your walk will be seen and blessed] "or outside of time - in the future [afterlife]

This word is pointing to individuals who walk with God and the general welfare of the children [If they have children]

Many children in poverty can mean cursing and deprivation / poverty/ rather than blessing depending in which age you live in.

Rather the walking of children "in the last days" can mean disturbance and turmoil for parents and anything but blessing.

Now we only have to turn to Sodom and Gomorrah to see the children of parents who caused anything but blessing.

This is a general family Psalm referring to the "walk of a person" man or woman influencing the "family"

As  all scipture is Holy Spirit inspired - we must conclude that - "this can work in particular individuals lives" as they walk within the fear and Love of God. [but cannot and does not apply to all]

Therefore I want to apply this particular study to certain individuals - that God speaks too.

This is about a personal walk with God and so as parenting is the most difficult thing you will ever face - [as it goes on for the rest of your life]

This is more about the individual walk and God's walk with the individual [rather than family]

As Absalom was a son of David so he sought to , do as said in Matthew 10:21

Then again King Solomon foolowed God and feared Him until his last days  and then adulterated - so too King Saul was a child of a Father.

It appears this Psalm is based on general hebrew origins/beliefs/ and can be applied to certain individuals -  but not to all [including those who remain single and do not marry]

Hereby you now see that not all of scripture applies to you [but it can]

Okay lets now look at an opposing scripture that argues the contrary and written by one of the son's of King David.

Ecclesiastes 6:3  A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.

Lets now apply this to Abraham and see the fruit, as his children are like the sands on the shore and the stars in the sky [second heaven]

Lets apply this to Jesus and see He is the firstborn of many -  whether they sat at His table and witnessed the breaking of Bread. or they are stting around the table final banquet  Luke 14:16

Jesus was/is/  the person who is the Vine and the new shoots appear around the Vine.

In this parable/picture/image/poem/ this psalm begins to make sense -  as in

Isaiah 11:1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

With this I want to share a picture/vision/image/  of a person wearing a bag over their head, the bag is crumpled is is of no value, until Jesus lifts this veil/bag/ and suddenly a new shoot appears around the Vine and the person apears and I can see the face.

Now Jesus begins to appear in the persons life/heart/ and they become fruitful - but not [always seen by others]

It seem's Jesus is being revealed through them as they move on [but only to certain individuals]

And so this vision applies to only to those who are cihildren - end of word of knowledge/vision/image/

Now this Psalm points to the individual in my image/ picture/ I am pointing to Abraham and Jesus.....rather than to the children of a particular family.

Here I see a Hand pointing and a direction to walk in - a step/ pointing.

Okay it now begins to make sense as I walk upwards in the darlk place..

Thankyou Lord for revealing this to me - today -  in my life.....

Okay - this may take time to review and digest - take your time and take a few steps forward,

A proverb of Solomon [a son of David - aduterating with many prostitutes [worship of other god's]

Solomon   writes.

Proverbs 7:6-15  6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
9 In the twilight, in the evening*, in the black and dark night:
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

Solomon speaks from wisdom as he steps up and steps down. [as did his Father]

Retracking over the individual called David, we once again see David the shepherd boy being chosen by God through Samuel the prophet and leader chosen himself by God to be a leader and Prophet and recognised a such . [a watchman and Guardian/protector/over others]

Okay back to this young individual who defeats a giant and spends many years running from King Saul and on this day David the shepherd boy took the sword of Goliath to defend himself against his enemies, where he pretended to be crazy  while in the hands of his enemies to save himself - see :

Luke 9:39 and Luke 22:54-62 - Genesis 20:2  And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah.

There are times when like Peter we have to save ourselves [lie/deceive /be like Jacob/] - as in Luke 22:58 A little later someone else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." "Man, I am not!" Peter replied.

I have heard people say "if you break one commandment you break them all"

Okay so David broke all the commamdments, but continued to be  "as a man after Gods heart"

Now David see's his place as ministering the King Saul by playing music to him and later we know that God rejected King Saul as King, "took away his ofice" God relented/repented/regretted/depending on your translation/. Here King Saul rejected God himself and God had to reject him as a King over the people [he was no longer a leader]

God now makes David a King as he see's his heart - now King David takes the role of leader and Prophet./ruler/minister/

Some Son's disobey and become a problem in Davids life - King David is now tempted and falls [down the steps] to adulterate and not only murder, but to commit - premeditated murder and derives a way of obtaining what he wants. see : 2 Samuel 11:2 as King David now meets many wives of many nations.

From this adulteraton - Solomon is born [like Father - like Son]

It's almost like "eastenders as events unfold on a daily basis"

Now the situaton is reversed upon King David as helpers use Abvishag to try to keep King David healthy and warm [in his final days]

Now Abvishag the Shunammite comes onto the scene - you see Adonijah [another son of King David] wanting  Abvishag as a wife, because this would give the Kingdom of that was now ruled by Solomon   to Adonijah his brother. [yet another overthrow/ahh lets tate the inheritance/easy money/easy Kingship/ownership/power/ [Adonijah means "Jehovah is Lord or my Lord is Jehovah"]

Here now we see yet another enemy within Davids own family trying to  take the throne of Solomon,

Now we will not even enter the into the life of King Solomon and His wives ... [we will neither look at the life of another son of David, amnon who  raped tamar and was murdered  a few years later,]

And so the individual is saved "as one who is still born"

Lets hope not all the words are remembered and that not all their sins are remembered ...adulteratons must therefore be forgiven by God [otherwise neither Father  nor son, have any hope.....

[some would sugest now /today that "Neither David nor Solomon have any place in scripture and we should not be following them"
 - but we are talking about Kingship here and rulership and the urge and of power play .

God certainly see's things dfferently ...

God takes shepherd boys and does not give up on them [thereby I am confident that He who began a good work in me will........}

Now as in life as in death

Kings 2:24 And now, as surely as the LORD lives--he who has established me securely on the throne of my father David and has founded a dynasty for me as he promised--Adonijah shall be put to death today!"

Today in that time - yesterday but now in today .

So Adonijah was put to death[by the orders of Solomon] for seeking along with Haggith his mother [the fifth wife of King David] to advance his level /step/ and to take the Throne of Solomon..

Never believe you can take a short cut, you must wait on God and wait for God to act.

It is God's act that advances your step.

I can never do it by myself.

So although Adonijah / lost hislife to King Solomon's wisdom, this does not mean that - [his name - represented by "My Jehovah is Lord] died forever and even though Abishag  became a hot water bottle for King David - does not mean she was forgotten either...

This was Politics on an earthly level and power play and so King Solomon speaks in scripture [chosen by God to be there.

Psalm 127:1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.

It might be quite normal to believe that  Adonijah and Abvishag  are now second to David and Solomon.

We npow assume that  Abvishag [is merely a hot water bottle for King David] and  Adonijah is simply seeking to overtake Solomon and become ruler [but this has no relevance to the afterlife and whether they were in or out of the Kingdom of God]

This is not for us to decide [although we do] because we sight those appointed by God in scripture and relate those dying as - ones who are not chosen] yet there is no distinction between King David and Solomon apart from being chosen to be Kings /leaders/.

We have all sinned and all fall short.  as in Romans 3:23

In this we have a tendency to like King David "a man after God's heart" and feel drawn to Solomon [but we must not forget the subjects] serving those of higher position.

We have a tendency to forget those who are less in our society [believing that they are not chosen/born again/saved/.

We need to look deeper instead of looking at general culture and society.

Forget about death and see deeper into the heart of God.

So lets finish by consdidering the battle between flesh and Spirit - you see there's all this waring between brothers and the Son's and the Father and wives and brothers.

Even though Solomon was chosen to be King beforehand 2 Samuel 7:12 - 1 Chronicles 28:6- etc

This family seems to have a continuous war and battle as one seeks to overthrow and usurp the next.

The eldest brother of David and the next in line to the Throne was amnon... he was murdered by Absolam [premeditated]

After Chileab was absalom - who was killed trying to overthrow [his fathers] King Davids reign.

This now left Adonijah and once his father was dying, caused himself to be proclaimed king. [as was his right]

But Solomon was chosen, as already declared - Adonijah could never let go of his right to the Throne and what it meant.

So we have the urges of the flesh and what the Spirit says = at times we can have the  heart of Abishag and we can have  the heart of Adonijah. [we battle between the two]

One serve the King and the other yearns to be the King. [the war within]

So lets end with Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

And Matthew 23:11 The greatest among you will be your servant.

Choose to be the body warmer and nurse/servant and put on abishag and put the Adonijah in your life to death.

Now Jesus begins to appear in the persons life/heart/ and they become fruitful - but not [always seen by others]

It seem's Jesus is being revealed through them as they move on [but only to certain individuals]

And so this vision applies to only to those who are cihildren - end of word of knowledge/vision/image/[/quote]

Okay we now see the face of Abishag and her serving spirit as she seeks to please the King .

Here we seek to put Adonijah to death and do so for the rest of our lives. [as we  do not want to be a god]

Lord and provider of my life Adonai - make me put to death my Adonijah and serve with reverence and fear [in Love] - let me put to death my flesh on a daily basis and let my family warings begin cease and let me begin to walk in "Your way" in Jesus name Amen.

Psalm 127,The House that God built.

Psalm 127,The House that God built.

A Psalm of solomon, Solomon built a house .

1 Kings 5:5 "Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spoke to David my father, saying, 'Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place, he will build the house for My name.'

It was not for King David to build the house.

Again a  short psalm and the "Eighth step"

And verse one= A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
This is a verse I used to have around my house - hung on walls]

Why would anyone wake up early and labour in vain unless they had the blessing of the Lord upon them .?

The building of a house must have God's blessing upon it - otherwise it is a wasted journey - as the house will fall down.

We all know the story of the house built upon the rock Matthew 7:24-27  24 ?Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.?

I can be as as one who wakes up  early to begin a new day having my  foundatons on the "Rock" but my labour can be in vain "without God's blessing"

I can spend years and indeed I have building a  house only to find it tumble down - this is how we grow and learn.

Have you ever spent many years working and labouring on something - only to find it crumbling down  ?

You have built on the foundations of your faith and have followed Jesus only to find your doings become nothing ?

[This has  nothing to do with my  foundation  in Jesus - but my building  - you know all you do will come to an end ....even Solomons temple..

It all crumbles down eventually - but it is about what is lasting or everlasting.

Some suggest that God looks at the heart and see's deep within your intentions "have you ever had people say "God will bless your good intentions ?"

How many times have you done something with good intentions - only to find it has caused harm ! offence/disunity/affected a family....

Indeed rather than doing good it has boomeranged back on you !

Indeed most parents have find this  as they try to do good in the family and it comes back on them - trying to help children and having put everything into them they may find it rebelling against them - good intentions within a family [house/home/  does not always find instant reward or reward at all.

It seems Proverbs 22:6   Train up a child in the way he should go even when he is old he will not depart from it.  has no building at all and crumbles - indeed David knew this with his son absalom.   [who fell by his own sword]

What turmoil within aheart that was after God's heart ? [wanted to build a house for God]

It is bilblical fact/ knowledge/

So where did David go wrong ? indeed solomon departed from the Lord as an adult and wandered into relationships with women from other beliefs.

Here Solomon writes a proverb only to "not" live it -[  in [color=blue]Proverbs 22:6 [/color]] as he did not abide in the way.  1 Kings 11:4   4 For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

It would seem a lifetime a dedication can lead to non fruit.

Yet as a parent you will /should/ anticipate/long for/hope/ for your children to come back /this is natural [or not] as not all parents are like this/ however they will assume be to as such to keep appearance.

And so - we continue with the tabernacle - God in us and us in God - a home / a house/ a living place for God to dwell/ shadow/ a place where God builds within/ a place where God dwells/ and a plce where we build = as in Nehemiah/Solomon/ and Jesus[color=red] John 2:19 Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days."[/color]

You see now that the building laboured upon could be destroyed within a few days.

Here the labours of a lifetime can be destroyed - my family can be destroyed /unless that , that is raised up can stay raised up.

With this study I want to share a vison with you.

It is a vision about the future and here Jesus is standing before me and His feet are like pure gold , I look further uo and see pure light - brilliant white light, But I cannot look any further, I cannot look up any further and bow down before His feet.

All I can see are the feet of Him and I see gold coins reigning dowm at first one and then many and then countless coins riegning down like snow

He touches my shoulder and puts His hand upon my life..

This is the end of the vision that lasted many hours

So  Solomon [in the last days of his life] had many wives - and married into the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites and wohipped the god's of them.

He indeed did as Israel had done and God was angered by his ways and so the Kingdom was torn away from him and the king of Edom  became Solomon?s enemy - and one tribe was left to solomon.

Solomon now had many eneimies because of his actions and deeds and his house/home/  tumbled...

I wonder how much of King Davids time was invested in Solomon ? I wonder how bathsheba may have felt as a mother ?

How could this house/home ever be rebuilt ?

Here as she may have been in a relationship that never should have been "with King David] [before the Lord] she must have wanted to do anything to help her child [but he must have seemed in the end like the prodigal son] and would he ever come back ?

[However  the Holy Spirit picked up on the proverbs of this man - [we now read his proverbs -  words of Wisdom and Ecclesiastes] and he was saved and was still found in favour because of his Father David   .

1 Kings 11:12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.

Whether solomon being included in the word/bible has any relevance to his being born again/God's child/a tabernacle/ the bible does not mention this.

However because he is included in the bible /Gods's word/ we can assume that He was a child of God.

1 Chronicles 28:6  He said to me, ?It is wSolomon your son who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.

Even though he was like a prodigal/Israel/  in his later years.

Of course I am sassuming that bathsheba was as a usual mother that would do anyhting for her child- however she can be conveyed as a manipulating person and actually more interested in her place in society - interestingly she was the seventh daughter, [after the seventh psalm] and her  name means  "daughter of an Oath"

Although there are no writings from bathsaheba we see scripture about her [this does not mean she was God's child]/ or had any place in His House.

We do see that Israel having done the same as Solomon had a Father - Exodus 3:6 Then he said, "I am the God of father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

So it seems God continues to build but it seems as a parent it becomes nill - I wonder how much time God must have put into his children >? and how as a mother He must have felt for them.....How He wanted to build His house in them - but how they wandered away.

How could Solomon build a house for the Lord ?

O how God cried out for His Children and how He still does. [outside of time and in time]

Yet He is preparing a place for us ? a home within His Kingdom

And so the tribes of the UK continued to worship other gods as solomon did in his last days

Interesting that solomons temple took seven years to construct and King Solomon dedicated it to the Lord on the twelth year.

And so God allowed  King Nebuchadnezzar the 2nd to bring down the building [although God was the builder and the watchman] - God had to leave the people to their own ways until they were ready to return. [there fore the labours were in vain and solomons temple was destroyed] John 10:10  ...

The Uk of tribes - no longer had a builder or a watchman and so Solomon?s great temple was now a ruin. It would stay a ruin for many years, until it was humbly rebuilt by the returning exiles and these are the days of  Ezra/Nehemiah/

Shame will make you hide things and make you hide away - disappear, be a nonhuman , nonperson, be quiet, feel unequal with those around you, feel a lesser person.

the enemy will say "You time is wasted, your temple is wasted, your bulding is wasted, you a waste of time"

The enemy will declare you a deceiver, liar, manipulator, heel catcher, trickster, supplanter, guilty,

No matter what you are  building in life - arise lazuraus and rise .deceiver, liar, manipulator, heel catcher, trickster, supplanter, guilty, wrestle with God today.

Take hold of your inheritance and take your place/step/from Jacob to Israel. [one who westles with God]

I go back to the original vision of a body of a person .

Of course you do not deserve your place - but it is not you who takes your place it is Jesus [the first born]

Ha ha , you know the greatest thing you can ever do is to do what God wants - whether it seem's  the least or the greatest role - whether it seems to be working or not - whether your building/role/  seems to be working or not - do you know no building willl last ?

Not in this life anyway - as long as you are following God and doing what He has led you into that is all that matters.

Whether it be the cleaner who cleans up after the builders have finished or the cook who fills the bellies of the builders, or the teacher or the leader, the person who has'nt got a clue what he was doing as in the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem where everyone came together "not being gifted in building"

Do what God wants - and it is as simple as that, now you are building the body of Jesus and this is the vision of the person of Jesus Christ.

Your ministry is using the gift [or not your gift] for the purposes of God - whether it be building or nursing - doctoring or nurtering.

In the end it is about where you are and He will take you from there.

Ha , the greatest thing you will ever do is to do what God wants in society, it is not about the greatest or the least, it is about doing ehat God wants in your life, you may not be a preacher or a teacher - you may well be the cleaner or the cook or the nurse.

That is the Body of Christ.....

I finish with the words of King David [the adulterer]  the father of Solomon "[color=red] Psalm 27:4  One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. [/color] "

His Temple .....[tabernacling]....

Lord God in Jesus name I have made you Lord over my life today and You are the Builder - whatever my building in response [which I know will not last ]

I ask that my intentions [which have no value  in Your eyes ] would be reversed by Your works and intentions.

As I know that my intentions can cause harm  and my building can be torn down by my own doing.

Work in me not by my outward doings but by Your inwork working

Build my life today and make me the House that God Built / that my doings would be Yours in Jesus name Amen.

I keep getting "the oil of gladness above thy fellow men repeating over and over"

I get the words "unexpected"  where God takes control/intervenes/ speaks over/.

And so we continue this Pilgrim  journey - day by day and one step at a time - walking with the Light in front of us [with no idea of what will happen next]

Here we are coming out of babylon and are being restored/renewed/ and begin to work together to build .

We come together as a parculiar people/ odd group/ gathering/set apart/  to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. [past/present tense]

I have no idea where this study will go [as usual] but lets begin to walk in darkness and see where it leads.

So the Jewish nation spent 70 years in exile/captivity and it was not the same generation that returned to rebuild the walls [now notice they had to rebuild the walls / action] and this is where we will turn to the book of Ezra and not Nehemiah.

But before we begin delving into the darkness to find light - lets go back to the first exile - when Adam and Eve weere expelled from the garden due to sin.... they/ were given  skins in which it is believed "blood was shed" for them, these skins were the skins of animals.

It seems that the skins of animals never takes away sin, here you could suggest that Adam and Eve were simply saved from this event - but this does not answer the question of why God would simply save them from this sin but not save them from eternal death.

In this event all humankind is bound for eternal condemnation because of Adam and Eve and now it is only up to individuals to change this.

You may suggest there were many exiles [both individual and national] but the next exile I want to consider is the exile of the nation of God to Egyptian captivity and here the hebrew nation groaned under this captivity/slavery and God heard the groaning.

I might suggest another captivity/exile into the desert wilderness as God's people are led by the Light through a barren life - yet none of them made it to a promised land on this earth.

Indeed another generation walked into the promised land - a new generation - as with the exile to babylon and their release from exile/captivity to babylon.

In all these real life events we see people saved from disasters or be given longevity of life or material things. [on this earth]

And so all through the bible we see people or persons being made captive and released, exiled and made free again.

[these being images/metaphors/pictures/ that we can realte to our own lives [but are we only saved temporal or eternal ?]

Indeed why would a person be saved temporal and not eternal.... [now you may suggest that all humanity is God's] but it is quite clear that "many even those seeming to be God's are not]

There is a physical / reality /real life event/ slave to free person/ dead made alive/ [in this no one knows who is and who is not]

It is up to us now to relate this to our lives, to begin to rebuild the walls and be reconciled to God and to other people or family.

Meanwhile God is in the business of reconciling us to Himself/saving/redeeming/building/

Lets go to Joseph and being sold into slavery/exile/captivity/

The beginning of this egyptian captivity/ which gave Joseph / his liberty/release,

Here he was in a well being sold [not under his own will] to the captivity /bondage to potiphar/.

Here he spent a long time in the darkness of a prison/dungeon/ with a baker and a cupbearer.

Why ? because of his dreams.....  verse one - psalm 126 -  When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed

Sorrow to gladness here...

What sorrow for the Baker ?  and Jesus died for all of them !

Yet Jospeph was forgotten  [in the darkness] 23 The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.

Here the cupbearer was saved in this life ! /from losing his life ?

You see this is the unanswerable question as to the question /doubt/ both the cupbearer and the baker were friends of  and knew "Joseph" they had a relationship with "Joseph" [a type of Christ"] but one was reborn yet another died.

Were both "forgiven" yes we are all forgiven - once we turn to Him....

This is the "paradox" that none of us can answer.

So are we left in doubt ?

The baker had faith in sharing his dream after hearing the dream of the cupbearer....

He was waiting for the same answer....

Jospeph however was forgotten about  /continued to live ni this darkness / as usual.

Yet he was made great [in this life] to be in charge of Egypt - now you see the picture /metaphor/melting as egypt becomes
the picture /metaphor/ of slavery/bondage/exile/  in itself.

So now Joseph is no longer the primary person who leads the hebrew people into bondage / he has now died/gone/deceased/ [as the baker]

You see it was never through our obedience - but through the obedience of Jesus to the Cross.

Now once we have begun to build to walls - Jesus builds - and now we turn to the book of Ezra.

I have not answered the eternal question - however we continue - because the eternal question cannot be answered

What was the difference between Cain and Abel  and the cupbearer and the baker ? and Joseph ?

They all had dreams and faith to believe ... as the baker had faith to share his dream - hoping that he would receive the same answer.......

You see all rhese instances in the old testament are /visions/pictures/metaphors/ that only exist within their own context and that we can relate to in this day - in our lives.

Adam and Eve were sorrowed at their loss - but joyed at their salvation.

Cain was filled with sorrow..

Abel was filled with joy...

The nation of the hebrew people - were filled with sorrow and yet to be filled with joy.

As too - Joseph could not belive what happened to hm [and he knew the oil of gladness above his fellow men]

Yet Joseph  led to the captivity of the hebrew nation under the egyptian reign ...[exile/captivity]

What will you do today ? and what will God do in your life ?

I cannot answer this eternal question - but you can .... and only you can.

As only the baker could..

God hated Esau - why ?

it is an Unanswerable question ... to  ask "who are God's"

I mean beng that cain had faith offering unto God  - Israel had faith - the baker had faith hoping he would receive  the same as the cupbearer..

These biblical events /metaphors/pictures /images/ only go so far

I repeat again "Joseph's dream led to tears of joy above his fellow men - however in anotherr image/picture / Jospeph's redemption led to "the hebrew peoples bondage".

The death of one generation led to the redemption of the next as they walked into the promised land under "Joshua"

So we are looking at snapshots here.

But in Psalm 126 it is unbelievable - something we can not believe in,

As if God should do this ?

Not something in trust or faith  but something not believed in [as it could could never happen to me] unexpected and unimaginable.

Not done by our will - but done by God's Will.

Again lets look at another Exile - as Joseph's redemption led to the hebrew people under egyptian bondage/slavery/exile/.

Again God takes control and are led out of captivity into the captivity Of God.....

Their journey through the wilderness is now ended as another generation now enter the promised land.

And so the story continues through generations - liberty  to exile - and exile to liberty.

The overall scope here is about God's sovereign Will above human will.

As God can create out of nothing and use a person who has nothing to make them something.

God takes the people that the world would look down on and makes people look up  to them.

So God does great unexpeted things for His people [not reliant on faith]

As they look upwards so others look up to them

To finish and believe me I had no idea what this Psalm was about - we shall end with

"I keep getting "the oil of gladness above thy fellow men repeating over and over"

I get the words "unexpected"  where God takes control/intervenes/ speaks over/.

Do not believe that you are not abel -but know that God is abel [spelling intentional]

Lord God in Jesus name /Joshua's name/ Moses name/ Joseph's name / Isaac's name / Abrahams name.

What ever Your name is at this point in time - to me - I ask that You would act in Your Will to do what I cannot do and overall my life.

Change things Lord that I could never imagine or comprehend - so that when You act - I might be amazed and it might be as if a dream...

Let me live in this dream - where You just take me - In Your name [whatever that is in my life now] or whatever Name I allow over my life now Today as I walk. [one is my will and the other is Yours] amaze me Lord as You Act over my life.

By whatever Name You use over my life to release me and bring me out of exile - yet again.

Overall my life today.

AMEN and so be it.

OK IN ENDING - not dependent on your will .

Expectancy or faith

You know you can never save youself - or have hope unless - unless God is in your life....

He can do what you cannot...

Expect the unexpected ... this is where hope comes from... this is not hope in the expected - but a hope in the unexpected and this is faith in God -  hope for intervention in yourlife - TODAY.

As spoken to the hebrews - Hebrews 3:15  Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts  as you did in the rebellion.
TODAY - let God take action over and above "your steps"

Or see God take steps over and above your will.

As it is written and as we read .

Goid is above your steps and this is the seventh step [the perfect step]

Let Him speak into your life - TODAY and give you hope . above your expectatons/hope/faith/.

As so the one who was without child should hope for a child because of  - here God enlarges expectations - Isaiah 54:2  "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

Tabernacling with God is not just about our will - but we are in an relatonship within this tent.

Learn to expect the unexpected - this will give you the "HOPE" future, faith, meaniing, purpose, reason.... for living.

Do not envelope faith in your own gift wrapping - but open up that wrapping and see God do a new thing.

Take hold of this - TODAY and unwrap a new hope in a God that does what we do not expect.

Unwrap TODAY - and find that God is above our steps - expect the unexpected.

NOW WORD - begin to walk in new ways as you tabernacle and see that tent grow bigger.

Now this is the new name over your  life..

Reaching the Peak, Psalm 125

 Reaching the Peak, Psalm 125

I had a definite picture of God enveloping all things and within this envelop all things were in Him.

I saw God transcending  the entire universe being the transcendent  God .

Far above the highest mountain.

You see you are above the mountain when you speak defeat and negative - here you have already spoken yourself out of what God proclaims upon your life.

David defeated Goliath because of what he spoke upon him.

Do not prophesy upon your life by saying "I can never defeat this Goliath"

Speak to it and say "I will defeat you"

You see now we are at the peak of the mountains and we are looking over the City - so do not prophesy over that City.

Do not say "You will never make it"

Proclaim it's salvation and deliverance.

You [you]  speak over peoples lives .."O I will sue you" I have my rights above yours", - "I am more important than you "

In this we are speaking over other people and their lives and we are prophesying their future .

Indeed we prophecy over people.

I remember someone saying "O that is what he is like - he will never change"

Command your words - today and know that God is above all powers .

As you reach the peak  of the Mountain realise that what you speak upon your life is what you prophesy upon yourself.

God is above all this and transcends what you speak - but He is limited by what you soeak upon your own life and other people .

Begin to turn in your ascent today and see the transcendent God.

And so Jesus stood over Jerusalem and spoke

Luke 19:41  As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it

Luke 13:34  "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

It is the right path, the hard path, the righteous path, the Narrow way, that is the ascent in Psalm 125.

Not the crooked path, not the easy path, npt the shortest route.  Isaiah 40:3  - Luke 3:5.

It is the Lord who guides Isaiah 42:16

I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them And rugged places into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not leave them undone."
Blind faith, a way using a Light [as if we are guided by a Light through the desert] a candle in a darkened room, a beacon, a Lamp that shines in a dark place.

We have reached the peak and now look over Jerusalem - "but what shall we speak over it ?"

"What shall we speak over our lives ?"

You see there are times when God will seem to betray you

You pray ,like Elijah ....
James 5:17  Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.

Elijah prophesied his own future - here he had to live through the famine and drought.

It is a time when God hides Himself -  Isaiah 45:15  Truly you are a God who has been hiding himself, the God and Savior of Israel.
Break through this ...

Rise up and do not be surprised when your words rise up against [you]  ...  Matthew 27:46

Elijah could have died through his own words... [he now had to live thorugh this three year drought and famine...

You see the brook dried up for Elijah as well - he spoke agianst his own life [in the  brook Cherith]

This was the Kerith ravine [color=blue]1 Kings 17:3[/color]

Here Elijahs stream dried up.

One more thing to observe here are the words of the mad prophet Balaam - when the Spirit of God came upon him :

Numbers 24:2 When Balaam looked out and saw Israel encamped tribe by tribe, the Spirit of God came on him

Balaam speaks upon Israel with seven messages, upon this city of seven hills, as Jerusalem is surrounded by seven hills.

I would like to end this study by going back to the beginning

"I had a definite picture of God enveloping all things and within this envelop all things were in Him.

I saw God transcending  the entire universe being the transcendent  God .

Far above the highest mountain."

Here God is the rock and fortress, protector and defender, being above the hills and above Israel - yet somehow He can tabernacle with them [as Balaam lifted his eyes and saw them dwelling in tents.

Numbers 24:2 YLT and Balaam lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Israel tabernacling, by its tribes, and the Spirit of God is upon him,

Lord God in Jesus name, I lift my eyes to the hills and speak intercede /moderate / take action /  into my life and others and proclaim Your words into lives today and into their minds and hearts and mouths  - in Jesus name Amen

Psalm 124 - from Earthquake to Flood

Psalm 124 - from Earthquake to Flood

I see a Lion roaring and His mouth is open wide and I see a insignificant person wearing a helmet - the helmet is a covering of protection [as long as the person stays makes it so]

I see the person walking in and out of this protection and I see a weakness and a strength.

When the person is weak so God is the head covering - when the person is strong - God is not.

I see a lion that is dead and from His belly comes honey Judges 14:9.

Here the Phlistines used Delilah [a philistine -  as a weapon] to end the life of Samson [strength] and "Delilah means "she who weakened"

She would be the one to take away Samsons  head covering.

Now David lifted his eyes to the hills [the higher power] as he came against a flood of enemies [his son and people within his own household and neighbours /nations and all else came against King David. [asif like a flood/metaphor]

A war developed between "those closest to King David" causing a turmoil./a flood /within/ as the enemy comes in like a flood.... Isaiah 59:19

This was during a three year famine/drought/  where water was sparce and so King David uses this analogy [turns it around]

"like the proud waves of the sea, and spread themselves like a flood; and whose destruction was like the breach of many waters, 2 Samuel 5:18.

2 Samuel 21:15 Once again there was a battle between the Philistines and Israel. David went down with his men to fight against the Philistines, and he became exhausted.

The water here was not evident in this famine/hunger/drought...

Here King David went  down to fight against the Philistines and God deliverd him /saved/delivered/reconciled/ David for His glory.

During this three year drought - David was saved from his enemies, so that he could continue to reign as King of Israel [God  not only saved Israel but save King Davids Reign]

And so the enemy came in like a flood [the philistine enemy] and could have devoured King David - but God saved him and the nation of Israel  from certain flood [during this time of famine/drought]

Now as you know and as the story goes,

The Insignificant one with string and bow

Felled a Philistine  giant with a single stone

David took a step or two, or three and four .

As the giant roared with fearsome shout.

The ruddy David would never be in doubt.

Now as David  lifted his eyes to the mountain above

The Holy Spirt came down in power and Love

As david put on the armour of Saul - David could never take on this terrible toll.

The helmet and armour was far too big and David rose up to this terror so big

The insignificant one - so now the person never chosen by people - becomes the tower and steeple

So Israel us deliverd by a shepherd boy insignificant to all - becoming the King of Israel to stop the fall.

Many others could have taken his place - yet David was saved through Love and grace.

Many brothers could have been King - but David was the one who's heart  could sing.

Now as you know and as the story goes,

The Insignificant one with string and Vine

Felled a phlstne giant - and this the sign.

When you meet your Goliath - it is time to rise up and take the steps to defeat it.

Look to the hills/mountains/higher power/

Take the situation/circumstance/problem/fear/  whatever it is and use it to turn the situation around.

Do not let the Goliath in your life control you....instead start praying /talking to God [big time]

Pray for the situation/circumstance/fear/trouble/ even if you do not know where it is coming from or how to resolve [this Goliath]

Let The Holy Spirit begin to reveal things and as He does pray through these things/steps/.

pray, pray, pray,

You have begun the steps to begin to make your Goliath fall down.

Whatever you do - do not give up - but persevere and as God shows you the steps walk in them.

The enemy will begin to flee - because the last thing he wants is for his attacks and oppressions/affects on your life to be turned for good or to be used in a way that glorifies God.

Whatever your trouble take the steps to come up against the Goliath in your life.

Do not let the enemy come in like a flood - but turn it around and let the earthquake/earth/ground/  swallow the enemy /opposition/ up.

Once the prayers have been answered - turn to praise .

Hello - here are the Psalms - make your own Psalm today - by turning your philistine to God....

Do what David did and turn your situation around.

How ? take your dark times and areas of your life around - by turning to God and pray -[big time]

The enemy will begin to  leave you - because he cannot put up with your turning to prayer.

his advances are /now your advances

How do I do it ?

Now you know how to do it !

It is your relationship... [up to you]

Turn your bad times to good by facing your Goliath [head to head ] @ [you]

turn the negative to positive and this is your weapon.

Lord God in Jesus name I turn to you today and ask that I may have the ability to turn all bad things to good [for Your Glory]

Lord give me and nurture in me an ability/anointing/ to come against my philistine and communicate with You.

Only You can remove the Giant in my life and help me recognise the Psychological effects that the enemy places in my life.

That I might rise up in Your Time - once you have enabled it.

Help me to wait for You and Your timing.. [as David did]

Help me to wait for the right season

In Jesus Name Amen.

Exile to Restoration

Now notice Psalm 123 goes from singular to plural  - as "I lift my eyes [/color]-  goes to verse 2 = - "as the eyes of

As Nehemiah needed others to rebuild  the walls of Jerusalem [a person to many persons]

Now remember that King David is speaking here in the singular about Jerusalem [plural] . [but prophecies into the future]

As the people of Jerusalem would walk into exile and later in the future walk back .

The Eye is the Lamp to the Body = singular  and becomes pural.

Here I find direction using the Lamp as my guide [step by our  step]

Vision - the Lamp

I see a person running away scared and I see many people running away scared,  I hear you frantically running and you are  breathing heavily as you attempt to run away, I hear the steps taking a backward motion and I hear "stop" and "listen" begin to walk forward and lets try again".  I am your Lamp and Light .

I see you walking back and forth trying to find the path and you are trying to retrack and go back .... you are looking at your shadow and not the Lamp in front....

Waiting On The Lord

In  Psalm 123:2 we are using a metaphor - of slaves obeying the master - both male and female .

Female being under the Mistress of the house.

Slaves were not considered to think their own thoughts - but to obey ther masters.

They would wait for the master to give a sign /shadow/ motion to them and they would have an action/service/to provide.

Another metaphor here might be that of the soldier under the control and authority of the centurion in biblical times - Matthew 8:9 -  here work together as a group/body and do not think - but obey - the signs given to them by the centurion.

This would be a matter of live and death and the master would give protection and meanng, hope and purpose/provision. Here we wait on God........

Here the slaves much like in  Job 7:2 Like a slave longing for the evening shadows, or a hired laborer waiting to be paid,

Waited on the master and so here in verse two  the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters for a gesture or command, a motion or sign/shadow.

Now let us turn it upside down and see the Lord God scanning  the earth   2 Chronicles 16:9 for someone to make a gesture/motion/response/ as He/God/Jesus/ serves us everyday as a servant.

Here this is life or death to Him - as He waits on us ........

From the One comes - our response.

Take Another Step

For this short psalm of ascension - I would like to end with considering  Psalm 79:4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and derision to those around us

Now this is David talking about his enemies - those opposed, scorning.

But you only have to look at the body casting the shadow to see Jesus ...

Taking the fourth step of ascension in the pilgrims journey

I keep getting the word "opposition"  here and people/things/  will oppose you as you seek to step up.

And "you will find  opposition  from places you never thought you would"

Step up from that and take your place as God seats you

Lord God in Jesus name "let me lift my eyes to the helper and hill/defender and strength.

Thankyou that we can always "begin again"

You wipe the slate clean as You did with King David ..

In Jesus Name Amen

Do not keep walking/running  to and fro in panic - just let Go and let God.

Breathe in - and breathe again.

Take step one and begin stepping up and so we end step four.

Now I begin to see the end of the tunnel and now "I can begin to reach into the Light" as I take another step and leave my burdons behind me.

I find great joy inside as I now begin to reach my destination and in this I find communion with others.

Now I have taken the third step above and casting a shadow Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.  ["Fellows here being "Neigbours"]

King David here "would have been speaking of a tabernacle" a tent meeting place [made of skins] where others would meet together to let go and let God "in worship"

David felt the joy and gladness of worshipping God - this was a unity that David knew [in another song of ascent/step]

Psalm 133:2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron's beard, down on the collar of his robe.

Of course David knew more about opposition and disunity - he knew more about disputes and arguments - but what gave him joy was meeting with others and in unity, to worship God and you might now be drawn to this scripture  2 Samuel 6:14 Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might,

Here David was stepping out and drawing near to God - here  Love is an action -  and this was a prophetic action/vision.

Love is an action and not an emotion ......

So what is love ! - God's love is action.

Emotion can be misleading - as with David and the lesson he learnt with Bathsheba.

How amazing that one person called David should be chosen to prophesy into our lives now [speak into - spoken into ]

How amazing that God should choose David to prophesy his Son's life and what would be = Psalm 22:19-23 - Psalm 34:20 and how amazing that Davids life should be used to prophesy our steps ... in the future [which is now]  and our future.

Here David was entering into prophetic action/vision/ as he danced before the Lord in front of a congegation of people.

Here countless onlookers were watching him Hebrews 12:1 [ in scripture] people reading the prophetic word [far into the future]  as he danced before the Lord [tabernacled with] knew God - wanted His prescence - sought God -needed His Holy Spirit.

Wow what a fantastic gift God had given  Old Testament "tabernaclers"

The Hebrew people in egypt had three  Feasts - the feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering ....

Now we are moving up to the Thrones of Judgement in the third step [three steps - passover, pentecost, and tabernacles]  three feasts of the Ascension...

You see how things develop here in the "Shadow"

Psalm 122:5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David

These are thrones in the sanctuary -

Davids  son absalom was not given tbe office/gift/  of justice and you might ask why - this is because  the Son of man shall sit on His Throne and then we shall Judge - therefore God was not on the Throne of Absalom's life !

Therefore Absalom never saw justice or ordered justice - indeed Absalom did judge [by  his own eyes/insight] and ordered war against his father David - here he judged through his own eyes/view/office/sight .

Now  we may  be  priests and kings and hold an office of Judgement - as Jesus sits at our Throne  Matthew 19:28 Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Now notice that Absalom - Davids own son should have had the office of Judgement /looked to the hills/ to put himself above his fellow men  - he used this to serve himself to become a tower/mountain/elevate himself/take another step/justify himslelf/ -  thus he was never given this office 2 Samuel 15:4 And Absalom would add, "If only I were appointed judge in the land! Then everyone who has a complaint or case could come to me and I would see that they receive justice." [God saw his heart/ therefore he was never given the office of Judge]

Indeed Absalom received justice at the hands of God Himself  - hence there is a throne of Judgement in  this life -  here  the thrones of judgement" are administered by God's people - once having been put at a certain place [step three].

There are some that judge by their own plank and others that judge in the land by office.

Here you [you]  shall judge the nations in the thones of Judgement only once God is on the Throne of your life - obviously Absalom still judged and to him justice was served as he was killed by his own sword.

This is a lesson to learn  - that as we judge will shall be/ are/  served by our own sword .

God took action and sent His only begotten Son ...... He awaits  a response/action/ = this is the Paradox - that God is greater than His own precetive Will for us - in that "the thief on the Cross asked for mercy as Jesus was comdemned as a thief/murderer/adulterer/lier/" - no action apart from a few words could save the thief/adulterer/murderer/lier/  on the Cross [next to Jesus]  or give him eternal life" - except Jesus

Psalm 122:7  May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

Here we have God's Preceptive  Will for His people..... [ God would want that we all love, are Holy, repent, follow His ways ]

Yes, may all repsond to the call of God and His Preceptive Will- may all quicken the coming of Christ - may all go to the banquet [but not all did/do/will]  see : "the chosen/those good people =  Luke 14:17 16But Jesus replied, ?A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests. 17When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ?Come, for everything is now ready.? 18But one after another, they all began to make excuses. The first one said, ?I have bought a field and I need to go see it. Please excuse me...

[So God say's "So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.']

Love is a verb/acton/ response/ and God see's these actions/responses.

God's action was that He sent His only begotten Son...  our action is how we respond in the third step. [In God's preceptive Willl - to follow His precepts] "an action"

Now get up you filthy sinner - you good for nothing Adulterous, Murdering, Lying, prostitute, thief and welcome to my banquet...My Holy Bride.

I will finish the study at this point

At the moment of writing this study - God showed me that we all commit murder [in one way or another]  -  we alll tell lies -we all fall short - we all adulterate - we all steal from God ....

Therefore I wil llet you take the next step [the third step] and simply pray.

Thankyou Jesus that you have made us righteous before the Father by the power of Your Holy Spirit.

Thankyou Lord Jesus that I am a thief , a lier, an adulterer, a murderer, but yet you have uplifted me to the third step in Jesus name

Jesus answers as you take another step and says   "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise."

This must be the sinners prayer ...................

It is Finshed.
