Not all things that we enjoy are good for us -  sometimes it is the things we dislike that do the most good

I go to the disciple /apostle/ Pauls testimony now and consider how he spent many years in prison and under house arrest. [Yet it was only in these times when  Paul was able to pen his inspired letters and books of the bible to paper.

Consider how these books and letters have been used by God throughout generations ! to bless other people..

Consider how Paul was brought up the son of a pharisee and how he had to let go of his past life and put it to death  and how "his blinding brought him to his knees"

How he was beaten and shipwrecked , stoned and bitten, whipped and oppressed .

Consider, John [whom Jesus loved] being exiled to patmos [to work in the mines] and given over to slavery, being dipped in boiling oil, going on  to living to an old age  John 21:22

Now John in this situation begins to reveal revelations and see things we now read about in scripture.

Hardly a person who should feel loved by God - seeing his life experiences and circumstances....

John could not see what God was doing in his flesh life and yet he was given revelations - that the Holy Spirit appointed/anointed/inspired/  into scripture.

Now I do not know yet what relevance this has - but I will share a dream and a vision in this study [I may well be wrong here and this may something I am meant to share with someone else - but anyway - either way I am sharing it ]

I had two dreams of dead insects on a floor ! I could not make out what these things were - until after the second dream and I now understand it to be dead flies, hundreds upon hundreds of dead flies.

Now a vision of a sand storm - where I became blinded and could not see ahead, all I could do was to keep walking through the storm and hope I was going in the right way

Both the dreams and vision are relating to being blind and walking in blind faith and the flies seem to symbolise the dead things in my life "becoming" or being created / into new things/ only because bad things have happened [what I assume to be bad]

Or maybe this is the people/seen as enemies of God's people /falling around as God's people are raised up.

I also have Jude 1:12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.

Feel free to interpret these things in your own way

The voice I seem to hear is "although bad things hapen in your life, these are meant for your good, they may seem to lead you away from Me - at the time,  but I will draw you closer to me, it will not be of your doing but Mine

You are the disciple I love and so welcome tribulation"

I also receive 1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you;

Either way no matter how bad your life, God will/can/  use it / amazingly it may cause you to stop your unity with God - and with others / and so we begin another message "about God and you - building bridges - and  how the bridge can be pulled down"

In a sense,  it is about how you respond - yet in another sense it is about "how God uses the God/Good/bad/ things to draw you into a much deeper place and relationship.

Here we see the disciple Paul letting go of his old life [flies] and beginning a new life .....

Here we see the disciple John being loved by God and yet finding his road and path to be anything but blessed or joyous.

Welcome to the upside down Kingdom of God - where the disciples found adversity and opposition - where the fishermen layed down their nets - but continued to be fishermen - John 21:10 ...

Where Paul continued to be a tent maker to make ends meet while he preached and wrote and travelled.

Al of them found adversity and opposition as they sought to build bridges -  yet it seemed the good life/blessed/ was upside down.

Now when you tell people you are blessed - consider what blessed means....your blessed/good/God/ life may well be turned upside down.

Your anointing is not blessed - but your anointing is being able to walk through the storm na dcome out the other end - your unity is only because God chose you and so we begin the next step/ascent/ one in which you may lose your identity .

In Psalm 133 we  are presented with three verses and three images .

1. The anointing of Araan with oil

2. The dew of Hermon

3. And as the dew descends on the mountains of Zion [surrounding Jerusalem]

It is interesting here in these three verses that we are taken to from literal to spiritual.

Here heaven touches earth or earth touches heaven.

Here the literal is affected by the spiritual - but also the spiritual is affected by the literal.

Here we go on in this Psalm to "for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for ever more"

Quite how the mounts of Zion could have life for evermore - means that these metaphors are broken and are no longer pictures/images/metaphors/ but are literal and not only that but are speaking in the plural sense - that God anoints and God declares that He will give dew in the morning and water to quench our thirst and bring anointing by oil to those who are His FOREVEMORE.

Here ascend the steps of our lives and heavenly places and go from pictures and mere images to God's Promises -to quench the thirst of the deer [another metaphor] and to anoint those that are His.

Here we might be baptised - only to find that we were already or that we will be.

Here we might find that God did give us dew in the Morning - but also will.

Here we may receive the oil of anointing from God or from a person . [as with Araan from a person - yet from God]

Here we find that God in scripture - turns spiritual to literal and literal to scriptural [or spiritual]

Here anointing is turned to water and water to oil.

This is a metaphor or image that firstly uses bethren in unity and turns to the anointing of Araan and then to the dew on mount hermon [using a picture/metaphor] but going onto the mountains surrounding Jerusalem - but now goes to a future literal and present /past/ by declaring "commanded the blessing, even life for ever more"

Herby not all those who are baptised [jewish tradition] are of God .

Well now today we may have no idea of the mountains surrounding Jersusalem or the dew on mount hermon - we have no memory of the oil that dripped from araans beard - but however we now know that God gives water to the thirsty and oil to anoint.

Life forever more in this Psalm of King David could not be applied to all his subjects in his kingdom as many were enemies of God at this time and of David - but here David again prophecies and declares God's word.

It is quite obvious that not all under Davids kingship and kingdom were of God [even in his own family]

And so - It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore. NIV

or = Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the LORD has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting. NTL

As if the dew from mount hermon falls on Zion's hills....

We see from previous studies - that this harmony was not always known [even in Davids own family]

This is the prophetic scripture being spoken from God through King David - using pictures that we might understand.. [now today]

Now today God's water or dew gives us life and His oil causes us to go through difficult times as He gives us the ability.

Do not forget that an anointing will break through and have an effect on others around.

Here King David takes a known literal as in "the dew of mount hermon and brings it to [as if it falls on the mountains of zion [Jerusalem] and then steps up and takes it to a heavenly inspired view as with "life forevermore"

In it's day -  the dew on a mount or dew on the mountains surrounding Jerusalem had no relevance - it only comes alive in scripture - once the reader understands the picture - being broken - by something that they would not understand [but some might]

It is as if and now as if upon the mounts of Jerusalem the dew and oil descends.

Here the metaphor is broken as to  future generations - as if David saw beyond his time... but more so that God is speaking through King David of a time that is not in time.

Now I can be born/saved/  if water or  oil in the spiritual or of literal makes me new -  where heaven touches earth or earth touches heaven.

In Exodus 29:19 and Leviticus 8:112 we see how Moses anointed Aaron, to sanctify or consecrate him, to set him apart for God?s holy purpose.

Now there are many kinds of anointing, they are anointings for every beleiver and specific anointings for the purposes God had called them to

Here Araan in Exodus is being anointed for the role God has purposed for him - most priests were anointed with oil, to consecrate them their role /to be set apart/

King David was anointed/appionted for his specific role and life /purpose/reason/meaning/role.

Do not get fixed here [hung up]  with the regular anointing -but understand that every individual is unique and there are some that walk on a totally different level [hence we are on the steps of ascension / the path to ] here the journey in it's context leads us to the temple/ also seen as the ascention from babylon to Israel / this ascent would later be to Solomons temple.

Abraham walked this hill to sacrifice Isaac.

Jacob made this ascent and saw the ladder to heaven and King David also went up to this place.

Do not get fixed on a context or theology now - but simply see that anointings can be unique for certain appointed people at certain times and that "it can be at any time in history".

Also see that anointings can also be general and quite ordinary [as in an anointing for keeping books or an anointing for making jewellery.

1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward.

Here you see a rushing of wind, a continuous filling...

There are greater and lesser in this Kingdom of God, where even Abraham bows down to a Priest in

Hebrews 7:4 Consider then how great this Melchizedek was. Even Abraham, the great patriarch of Israel, recognized this by giving him a tenth of what he had taken in battle. 5 Now the law of Moses required that the priests, who are descendants of Levi, must collect a tithe from the rest of the people of Israel, who are also descendants of Abraham. 6 But Melchizedek, who was not a descendant of Levi, collected a tenth from Abraham. And Melchizedek placed a blessing upon Abraham, the one who had already received the promises of God. 7 And without question, the person who has the power to give a blessing is greater than the one who is blessed. 8 The priests who collect tithes are men who die, so Melchizedek is greater than they are, because we are told that he lives on,

Whoever this anointed Priest was he has the ability/anointing/is greater. - see : John 14:28 - Matthew 11:11

Regarding a new covenant

20 This new system was established with a solemn oath. Aaron?s descendants became priests without such an oath, 21 but there was an oath regarding Jesus. For God said to him,?The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: ?You are a priest forever.?

Melchizedek has a  unique priesthood and is a type of, Jesus' new priesthood however is superior and above  the old levitical order and above the priesthood of Aaron see : Hebrews 7:1?10

Now Jesus Christ is the person to build the new temple - as in

Zechariah 6:12 Tell him this is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the LORD.

Exciting stuff - if you believe it is prophetic and speaks now

While ultimately this Psalm can be said to be written by God as "all are" in the end. [and all scripture is = in the end]

I want to see this as a Psalm of encouragement "whether written by King David encouraging his own children and family to seek unity"

Or God asking His "children - family to stay in unity" [which they evidently  do not] - [in the real world]

I cannot help here to look at instances in sciptrure where, over and over again there is disunity "as scripture declares the opposite" to encourage us to stay together.

I do not want to appear negative but  "but am being realistic as  I was never an idealist."

EG : "My friend is an idealist, who  thinks  we should always agree.- but I disagree

In scripture [as we have seen in Davids own family] families do not always dwell in unity....

I remember somewhere that Paul had such a strong disagreement with Barnabus that they parted ways [God can use this]

I also remember an old song that went something like "the Spirit will not be hindered by divison"  well this is correct in a sovereign [God] sense - but also incorrect.

But to end this study I want to go to Genesis 13:7 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's livestock and the herdsmen of Lot's livestock. Now the Canaanite and the Perizzite were dwelling then in the land. 8 So Abram said to Lot, "Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are brothers. 9 "Is not the whole land before you?  Please separate from me; if to the left, then I will go to the right; or if to the right, then I will go to the left

You know the going to the left or the right is not always separating the sheep from the goats [in this life]

Okay Abram chose the barren land which turned out to be the land of plenty while Lot chose the rich pastures [which would take him and all his herdsmen, family, livestock and blessing to what would be sodom and Gomorrah. [which turned to be a curse upon him ]

While Abram, chose the barren land [not really seen as promising at all  and so we know that Abraham rescued Lot and his daughters and so now God makes a covenant with Abram and he now becomes Abraham as we  know him now.

So we now see that later on in Genesis 19:36 So both of Lot's daughters became pregnant by their father.

And so we see again that the original decision to go to the left or to the right has "now/today/ramifications and judgements" as one baby [of lot's daughters] becomes the Moabites and the other becomes the Ammonites.

This was all due to the lingering affect that Sodom and Gomorrah had on lots, daughters and on Lot .

And being confined to a cave in which lot dwelt after the affects of his experiences. [ in which he became a recluse ]  in Genesis 19:30  Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave.

It is great when brothers dwell in unity - and indeed families should always dwell in unity [the perfect Will of God]  .... in the ideal world we should all do this..

Here Lot and Abraham were family [brothers] here lot was a nephew - but seen as a brother ...

Hereby you might suggest two hearts and two paths - and you are drawn to two different eternal directons [in your natural mind]

I might suggest we have all made mistakes in our Christian lives

But is that our Lot ?  you decide whether that is your lot !

Is your eteral future really defined by a Lot !

You may decide that Lot is the one who misses the mark due to his drunkeness - however you may also decide that Abraham missed the mark when he laid with Hagar - his maid servant - Ishmael became ....  twelve tribes.....

I end with Galatians 4:21-31  21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Pray with me and speak these words.... as I speak.

I move on today Lord of my life and in Jesus Name I pray for for those in my famly and outward family [those who are brothers and sisters in the You]

I ache in my heart and yearn for you to act [on behalf of this family] I sob all night for You to act and interceed in their lives, may my tears be the number of acts You perform as you intervene and interfere in lives /interact and change .

Lord of my life hear my prayer [as You hear al prayers] In Jesus mighty Name Amen

Today Lord I change direction and  change in the eyes of others - may ,my repentance be true and seen, may I continue to let those stupid flies die and as I sob  may You do what only You can do..

Thankyou in gratitude and servitude.

In the Name of my God that I put over my life  before You - in the Name of  God the Faher - God the Son and God The Holy Spirit.

I realise today that I cannot do anything - without You being  Lord of my life.

Thankyou -thankyou - thankyou.

May the cost not even be seen .

May the hurt that others have done and the distress that they have caused me be forgotten.

Indeed let the cost bw hidden from others  eyes and this Psalm/song -  be hidden in You and forevermore Amen.
